Gladly, look up Celsus and Lucian. They mocked Christianity but confirmed it.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2183540

Got that from the first results on google as well. When you do your own research , stop talking out your ass, and relying on work others have done to base your opinions off of, we'll have a conversation. I'm all set with you now. 5a
Quoting: Bilbo Baggins

Ah so you really dont want to research it. Thats what I thought, good luck to you.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2183540

Lol, well, our opinions on what research is obviously differs. You consider using google, clicking the first results, and believing it as truth, as your research. So our conversation is done.
Quoting: Bilbo Baggins

You asked for books, I cited the authors, and you dismiss it based on..your method of using google? Did I tell you my source, or did I just point you in the direction for you to do your own due diligence? If you care, which you obviously do to post in this thread, look it up yourself. There are libraries too if you dont like the internet.

I think they had bibles at the residential schools.

but then, why would they want to believe the bible if the people preaching it did horrible things.

I've said it before and ill say it again..

The last passage in the bible states... I am Jesus the son of David the bright and morning star.
Good grief it's so obvious Jesus is symbolic only and a representation of the SUN!!!

Well now we are looking at it allegorically you are a pagan sun worshipper too.. Since when is worshipping the sun bad anyhow. It will give us life and take it away. Without the sun we live in darkness (hell). The whole Christian bible theme is sun worship hidden metaphorically...
Read the passages that say Jesus forsake his disciples... disappeared into the mountains at night and reappeared in the morning from the east??? Too obvious for anyone who can think for themselves and not listen to literal teaching that believers sprout.
I'm sure the bible is prophetic but it must be read differently to understand what it really is saying to you.. It's about the universe..

yes and magi were magicians and such
it is all allegorical as well as a tool of control. You are not taught how to use it in a proper sense

1- literal
2- historical
3- allegorical
4-astrological

it can be read cover to cover all 4 ways if done properly and you will have an explanation in ALL of them that follows a timeline.

this is why "the devil" knows the word just as well as God does. There is a reason that they say don't consult the stars but pray to the star of Bethlehem. There is a reason that they tell you Jesus is LIVING- to get around the necromancy of the idea of it. It is all a mind warp if you can't take it all in with open eyes and many resources and tools of interpretation.

BELIEF: Three wise men (or kings in some traditions) visited Jesus at the time of his birth.
STATUS: MYTH.
Perhaps you have seen paintings or nativity scenes that depict the infant Jesus lying in a manger, surrounded by three wise men bearing gifts. This image, however, is fiction, not fact.
It is true that a delegation from the East paid homage to young Jesus. These visitors, though, were really astrologers. (Matthew 2:1, The New English Bible; The Bible—An American Translation) And did they find Jesus nestled in a manger? No; they visited him in a house. Evidently, they arrived some months after Jesus’ birth.—Matthew 2:9-11.
As to the number of visitors, were there 2? 3? 30? The Bible does not say. Perhaps the traditional number of three arose from their three types of gifts. (Matthew 2:11) Some have even proposed that each of the so-called wise men represented a different race of mankind. But that idea is not found in the Scriptures. Rather, as one Gospel commentary notes, this particular myth is the product of “an eighth-century historian with a vivid imagination.”

Scriptures from above^:
(Matthew 2:1) After Jesus had been born in Beth′le·hem of Ju·de′a in the days of Herod the king, look! astrologers from eastern parts came to Jerusalem,

(Matthew 2:9-11) When they had heard the king, they went their way; and, look! the star they had seen [when they were] in the east went ahead of them, until it came to a stop above where the young child was. 10 On seeing the star they rejoiced very much indeed. 11 And when they went into the house they saw the young child with Mary its mother, and, falling down, they did obeisance to it. They also opened their treasures and presented it with gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

(Matthew 2:11) And when they went into the house they saw the young child with Mary its mother, and, falling down, they did obeisance to it. They also opened their treasures and presented it with gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

Just really look at in a metaphoric sense.. U will understand then. The bible literally says Mary and Mary Magdeline are allegories.. That literally means they are symbolic only. Thank you for being sensible and asking sensible questions. They can be answered easily from anyone who has studied theology.. It is a prophetic book! I believe that but really if you think about it Christian or not without the sun we perish.. We live in darkness. Nothing will grow nothing lives. Christian or not without the sun we are all dead.. The bible is amazing and I've studied it but I have no doubt at all that Christianity was formed from pagan text to control the people and until someone proves me otherwise then I stand by what I say here..

Re: Did Native Americans have access to the Bible?
In Mormon folklore, the tribe of Lehi left Jerusalem around 600 B.C. in vessels and arrived somewhere in South America. Sometime later, another tribe (knows as the Jaredites) left Asia and arrived in South America. These tribes moved northward over time, although it's likely that many of these tribes stayed behind. The "Book of Mormon" is said to have been found in a hidden rock enclosure buried in a hillside of upstate New York. The Book of Mormon is purported by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be a history of the peoples of the early Americas, and also a chronicle of the appearance and ministry of Jesus Christ among these people following his resurrection.

It was written in Hebrew before translated into Greek and English. We have the Greek Septuagint from at least 300 BC and in 1946 found the dead sea scrolls which verified the original hebrew text.

Thanks for making my point. Those versions you quoted are not accurate. If you can only read English (like me), then the King James version is the standard. It does not have 'astrologers' in that verse for a reason.

Dark and light IMO can also be translated as good and evil .. Sunrise, sunset... And what about Bethlehem and a star? Wasn't there a reference to that too?

yes and magi were magicians and such
it is all allegorical as well as a tool of control.

It is all a mind warp if you can't take it all in with open eyes and many resources and tools of interpretation.

contemporary meanings are NO GOOD

No, your theory is the deception. This sun worshipping is just paganism. Take the Bible literally, or dont take anything from it all, and spare the rest of the people your deceptions, please. Thanks again.

literally? in what language? IN WHAT LANGUAGE is there a LITERAL TRANSLATION?

NONE

It was written in Hebrew before translated into Greek and English. We have the Greek Septuagint from at least 300 BC and in 1946 found the dead sea scrolls which verified the original hebrew text.

DO YOU speak Hebrew? are YOU versed in it? CAN YOU EXPLAIN IT in a way it makes sense across language barriers?
Quoting: acegotflows

William Tyndale did.

They also opened their treasures and presented it with gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

and you wonder why my religious family tried to pray for my "deliverance" and such and why doctors tried to poison me until I was a vegetable. I lived. They have a right to NOT LIKE ME AT THIS POINT...

I'm not scared. I've been dead (won't be able to prove it so it does not matter) I've been crazy (can prove it) I lived.

We need to not be led by fear. It is more damaging than anything
