WOW TB,
So sorry to hear about all of this! Seems likes lots of crossroads coming. That is terrible about the Pastor! One action of his cost so many people so much!

I feel for your son! Not an easy place to be in. I wouldnt want the in laws either living with me!
Sounds like he will always be in that predicament though with her.
Im sure hubs will find something. Anyone who works 7 days a week 16 hours a day is very marketable! Enjoy his time off as it may not last long.

So glad you shared this...you know you can always come here to vent!

Adding you to my prayers!

Reporting for duty with your answer TB. Move back to Ohio and don't look back til it's all settled there. 8)

What trouble a weenie waving old man can cause! Darn shame too, that he didn't teach his daughter that when a woman marries, her first loyalty is to her husband.

It has to be a lot of stress, made even worse by DH giving up his job. You know though, that he has a good reason, and is counting on you to support him in his decision. Hard as it must be, I know you'll do it.

There might not be as much money coming in, but it doesn't cost much to pack to take some crackers and cheese and a bottle of wine to a nice place to enjoy the afternoon.

Doesn't cost much to go fishing either and a lot of people fish all their lives without realizing it's not really fish they're after.

DS will be home and a son is an awesome heavy object mover and house sitter for you to get a chance to get away.

Nothing like being with someone you love in a a tent near a stream and some good food over a campfire. With DS there watching over things, you won't have to worry about home.

It's a time of change, but it can be a good change and even deepen relationships. DH is going to be going through some tough times, questioning himself and wondering if he made the right decision. Even though it has to be nearly killing him now, working all those hours, he's going to feel lost not going in and having his entire routine changed.

He'll be forever grateful for your support. Bet his health will improve too, not having to deal with whatever he's dealing with.

It's gonna be ok, TB. Things always work out. Sometimes the most troubling things that happen end up putting you in an even better position than you were. Take care of yourself and don't worry so much that you won't notice when that better position presents itself. 8) You'll be in my prayers.

I know. I'm old enough to know it in my head. It's my worry zone that needs some help.lol

It's funny you mentioned fishing. We were in the store last night, picking up dog and cat food. The sporting section is right next to the pet section. I saw a little girl fishing pole and thought how much fun it would be to take the amazing Em fishing. Too bad we're not near my favorite creeks, rivers, and Lake! I could use some wall-eye right about now. I never caught much, just used to love the excuse to sit and watch the water. Everything here is catch and release. That's ok, but they're just basically ponds. Nine's, think the size of the pond at the campground. That's what we've got. Sucks.

lolsign Ponds are good for floating in too! You can relax, take a nap, not be concerned about being swept overboard, or being washed out to sea. Just don't nap on an tube. Easy to turn over and fall off. LOL.

When is DH's last day? How is DS dealing with a his wife, a new baby, AND all the other events? Bet he's about to explode.

These aren't clean ponds. Most of the water is from rain run-off. They're really our storm drainage systems that are stocked with fish.

His last day is the 6th. Son is about to go German on his fil. He's ok with the new job, except for losing the bennies. He started doing that when he was 17, so it's not new for him. He's very good at it, it just doesn't pay as well and no benefits, usually. He's found some health insurance that's affordable for them, so that's good. They're moving this weekend, so once they get done with that, he'll start applying for better jobs. They're out there, this just all happened so fast.

Oh. A swamp. Trying hard to find a bright spot in that one.Only thing I could think of was always carry a camera. Might get Sasquatch or claim the record for the world's largest mosquito. LOL.

Bet DS is upset. It's real hard getting used to a new baby, lack of sleep, stress, then add this mess on top of it.

Great that they're moving. It will be really good for the wife to get away from the parents.

Crap TB, what a mess. Glad your hubby is gonna go looking for something better, nobody should have to deal with some of the stuff you have told us over the past few yrs and have an ungrateful boss to boot. Those are alot of hours for anyone and someone our age shouldnt have to do that kind of "hours" unless it is their business and they are building it and want to put in those types of hours.

I had the same issue with my sons ex girlfriend as you know, so I feel for you there. Maybe, and I hate to say it, but Son is gonna have to put his foot down when he gets a few paychecks in his pocket and tell DIL that he is the man of his house and its time for him to have one. Even if its a damn studio apartment, theres something about having your privacy that is worth every penny.

TB - the situation with your son and dil does not sound good at all. I can't believe the behavior of some "church" people. My thought is they continually ask for forgiveness rather than correcting the behavior. I hope the kids find a way to be self sufficient.

Has your hubby thought of opening his own business? Seems he would make a great handyman. People are always looking for honest and hardworking help around their house, rentals, and businesses. Just a thought.

School, yep it's a killer on the pocketbook. Our youngest is only taking 2 classes right now because it's all we could afford. We split the tuition 1/2 and 1/2 with her. What does his tuition run per semester? Is it low enough that he could work through the summer and save to cover part of it out of pocket so the loan amount would be reduced and not require a cosigner?

Hugs for you!

I know and I've told him that. He REALLY wants to live on their own. I'm not sure dil wants it though. I try to give her the benefit of the doubt, but it's getting harder to do. She's a good girl, maybe just not as mature as she seems? I just don't know anymore.

If things keep up the way they are now, son will be looking for something sooner rather than later. He's about done with it all.

Stuff like this is why we quit going to church. It happens all the time and everywhere.

The business thing, probably not. There are literally tons of people trying to do that kind of thing and they are WAY better at it than hubs would be!LOL He's good with plumbing and some wiring, but a lousy carpenter! Rough things are ok, but finish work? Nope!

Youngest son worked full time and put himself through community college full time for just over 2 years, before he went to uni. He hasn't been able to find a job up there and I'm not sure if he could get his old job back for the summer. Maybe, it was at wallie's. I know he doesn't want to, he hated it, but if that's all he can get, he'll do it. We're looking at $18,000 for the next year. It's all jr./sr. level courses. Idk, but it's a good idea. We'll look into it. Too bad we can't hit the lottery, huh?

Guys, thanks for everything. Y'all are the best!blwkss

TB, went to bed and kept thinking about this....as I did other times, but forgot during the day, so I got up to mention it.

Has your son tried to get a job through the University? You probably already know about it, but if you don't, check into it. There's an application for different jobs online.

There's a FWS (fed. work service) but I think there's another program where the kids are hired. The application even lists which term they're interested in and which positions.

When DS was thinking about going there, a few hrs. a week would have paid for....I forget, a meal card and/or dorm? Anyway, I don't see that particular program listed now, but do see they still hire. At that time, they were good about letting them choose full or part time and were good about working around their class/sleep schedules.

Probably food service, janitor, office, but it's work. Just a thought. He might be able to get enough to help pay a lot of it. No need to answer but just something for you to think about if you haven't already. Nite. 8)

Thx, Nine's. He tried all of that. The problem is, everyone is looking for financing and the jobs were already snatched up. When daughter went, no one wanted them, now they're in high demand. He doesn't have a car, either, so he's really limited to what's close around campus. Nothing there, either. He even tried to get a bouncer job at one of the bars. Something will come up, some way. I don't quit that easily! Nite.

Been off for a while, I call it a mental vacation. No news, no internet etc.
Wanted to let you know that last thursday we found out that my daughter has an inoperable arachnoid cysts on her hippocampus. It looks like that is what is causing all of her health issues.

I looked around the site a bit before posting. It seems as though you have been facing a few personal challenges of your own. I will say a prayer for you and yours. hf

Oh and can you send me a pm about swin. (I wont be able to respond)
