LOL I can certainly relate to that!
I love my kitchen gadgets...certain spoons, forks, whisks, etc. Each one used for certain dishes I make. And favorite knives. I get upset when they aren't in the place they are supposed to be, and I have to dig! I know...kind of strange..

Re: Coffee Klatch
I have had one hell of a day!
First thing this morning, we gathered Pinky into the trailer to take him to the butcher, but Pinky did not want to get in the trailer so that took my son, my hubby and myself almost an hour.

We had to do a feed trail with watermelon and every time he got to the top he came back down. We stood there with pallets on the sides to corral him in and at one point he just jumped over it.

Finally a little left over roast chicken did the trick and we got him in there.

Then... we get to the place and basically the same thing getting him out, only, he was nervous for the ride and there was so much shit in that trailer when we opened it I felt sorry for my son who was gonna have to clean it.

When we got him off the trailer he didn't want to go into his pen and than took Pete, myself and 4 people from the place to get him in. I am sorry to say they had to use a shock prod to move him along cause he just wasn't having it.

Once he got into his pen we said our goodbyes. I thought it would be harder but the "nasty pig" in him came out at that point, not that I can blame him and he was very aggressive, even the pro's were afraid of him.

We got home and now our job was to get Delilah and her piglets into the pen where the water is and where there is an actual roof and area to be dry during the rain that is coming this weekend, and every other day too it seems.

Well she wouldn't leave her babes except to go about 20 ft away to where I put down some melon and feed for her.

Pete managed to get 5 of the 7 in a cat carrier before #6 squealed and all hell broke lose.

She comes charging toward him, he lets go of the carrier and jumps the fence faster than I have ever seen that guy move!

But... he leaves me in there!! Great protector my husband is.

Thankfully, Delilah didn't think I had anything to do with it cause I was standing over by where I had been feeding her so she didn't take her rage out on me. She went to the last two piglets and laid down with them. Now Pete went back in and grabbed the cat carrier and brought the 5 to the pen and we closed the door. Since Delilah was having none of this we came back to the house for a drink, did I mention it was like 94 degrees, 90% humidity and blazing sun.

About 45 mins later we tried again. This time we were smart, I grabbed my pool skimmer thing that you grab leaves off the top of the pool with, and used it outside the fence, this is where she had them, right against the fence at the roadside. We had the cat carrier again and just scooped the two piglets one at a time into the scooper and into the carrier. They never even woke up much less squealed.

Mama knew right away they were gone, and started looking for them. I brought the carrier in thru the gate and she continued to look for them. We had to try for about 30 mins to coax her into the pen. She finally came when she realized she just couldn't find them.

In the meantime, while I am going back with the last two piglets, one had gotten tangled in the fence, and one had somehow gotten between the watering pool and the fence and I thought it was dead but when I moved the pool he squealed, thank god.

Now.. after seriously all friggin day, they are all in the pen and happy. Delilah is happy to have her swimming pool back since there was only a bowl of drinking water for her near where she had her pups. Our epic adventure started at 7:30 this morning and we finished up at 4 in the afternoon, came back into the yard and walked into the pool clothes and all. I am gonna sleep good tonight.

On a side note, there are two that seem a little thinner, one is the black one and one is pink. The black one latches on but doesn't seem like he is getting anything, although not sure. He is still able to walk around and all that so I am just keeping a good eye on it for the next few days and if I have to give it some goats milk or something I will but will hope that maybe he is just growing slower or started out a little smaller. None are lethargic or anything like that. I guess I will know in a week or so if there are going to be any problems with the babies.

SO

I passed right out as soon as I hit the pillow!

They are all doing well, I guess blackie is just smaller cause he or she is frolicking around with its littermates. We seem to have 2 sets of twins, one that looks like pinky, one that looks like Delilah, and one all black with just one white leg. Pinky and blackie are the smallest but just a little thinner, can still see the ribs, the other 5 you cant see the rib anymore.

Mama is eating a lot and there was a crap the size of a horse in there yesterday, so I know shes getting plenty of food. We are feeding her extra and twice a day right now.

Sad news. My daughter went to the Dr today and they do not find a heartbeat. She is going back tomorrow for a confirmation test and then if that is the case which they are pretty sure it is, they will have to schedule the procedure to remove the fetus.

She is beside herself, I haven't gotten to speak to her yet, her boyfriend called. He had met her at the dr for her regular appt. He had been going to all of them with her and they met there in their cars, so he was calling me from his truck as she was driving behind him.

He said she didn't want to talk to anyone and just wanted to go home and curl up in a ball and cry, so I am not calling her tonight.

I will call her in the morning and see if there is anything I can do. I hope that she isn't upset with me for not calling, but I want to respect her wishes and truth be told I would want to just curl up in a ball and cry too.

Thanks everyone. She is still very upset, understandably. They said that it looked like the fetus stopped growing at about 8 wks, which was when her last apt was. Everything was good at that time and she is confused as to why basically every measurement that day was the same as the measurements yesterday. She is somehow convinced that the ultrasound harmed the baby.

I looked into that and there is some evidence, but I don't think they would do so many if that were the case, what do you think.

I looked into that and there is some evidence, but I don't think they would do so many if that were the case, what do you think.

Hey Flav. I don't think it was the ultrasound. From what I understand, the danger comes into play when the mother has too many and the newest type is supposed to be stronger. You know, the one that gives the pictures that look like they're from a regular camera. I'm not sure what would be "too many". With my daughter, I had an ultrasound almost every month. Most of the time, I don't think the doc's really know.

If I'm remembering right, most of us have been through this situation. You just never really know why, most of the time. Things inside just weren't right and the body takes care of it. It's no one's fault. It's nature's way.

I know that's not going to help right now. Just spread the love and support around as much as you can. If she doesn't want to talk for awhile, texts are great. You can send your message and if she's not ready to respond yet, she doesn't have to and she'll still know you're there for her.

Re: Coffee Klatch
Thanks TB

She was talking about a transvaginal ultrasound, and I was looking into it today and it does say that if not done correctly it can damage the uterus. It is much stronger because it is not going thru skin and fluids but rather inserted right against the fetus to determine size, etc..

It is reported that a lot of women bleed quite a bit after them and some miscarry. Why the hell would they use them if that was the case, just to determine an accurate due date within 3-5 days.

Seems crazy
I believe everything happens for a reason so it is what it is, but cant tell her that at this point

Re: Coffee Klatch
Thanks everyone. She is still very upset, understandably. They said that it looked like the fetus stopped growing at about 8 wks, which was when her last apt was. Everything was good at that time and she is confused as to why basically every measurement that day was the same as the measurements yesterday. She is somehow convinced that the ultrasound harmed the baby.

Although I'd never tell your daughter, because mothers will blame themselves for everything, even the uncaring, negligent, irresponsible actions of others, I totally agree with your daughter and hope after she recovers she will dig deeper and try to educate others.

TO the second bolded, yes, I do think they would. And do.

Re: Coffee Klatch
yes nines, I think its possible. She had to have a part of her cervix taken out several yrs ago and I remember the dr saying that she should wait a few yrs to try to get pregnant to allow the tissue to grow back, so maybe this thing affected her more than someone with no prior issues.

I'll have to look into those. I thought you were talking about the regular kind. Maybe it was the ultrasound after all. Idk.

You're right about not being able to tell her that now, though. It could be years before she's ready for that one.

Re: Coffee Klatch
Ahhh.. TB

Once shes made her mind up theres no changing it! She will come to terms one way or another, everybody does, it just takes time to heal.

The even worse part (I just found this out) is that she still had only told family and a few friends, and somehow one of her not so good friends found out at a wedding shower sunday, maybe she heard her talking, who knows, anyways, she blabbed about her being pregnant to everyone yesterday and my poor kid was getting all sorts of texts of congrats about being pregnant on the day she found out she lost the baby.

I so want to grab that girl and smack her silly right now! Even if everything was still ok, that's news that the pregnant person should have the joy of spreading when she is ready to spread it, not some blabber mouth. That pisses me off big time.
My daughter was waiting till after yesterday because they were getting results from tests that were done last time and maybe having another, not sure, but she had said she just wanted to make sure the baby was ok before she started telling her friends.

Oh no. Oh your poor girl. It's bad enough, but this? Oh, Flav, how awful. I'll be glad to hold the "friend" down for you. I know how hard it was for me, when I lost my little guy, just dealing with condolence calls. I just can't even imagine this.
