Re: Coffee Klatch
That is great SO! I had the same thing with Alex and he is still here 4 yrs later.

He is back in school earning his degree and working full time. He has always been a good kid, so I didnt have any issues with him and we always joke that hes the good son, cause he never forgets to take out the garbage.

He also has a girlfriend that he is pretty serious about now, so we hardly see him anymore. He does school a few days a week in the mornings, works 3-midnight and were asleep when he gets home. On his days off he stays with the girlfriend who is really nice too. She just graduated nursing school and is working at one of the hospitals here in the pediatric trauma unit.

That is so great for Alex! I hope our little bird does well in life too. She has a lot to make up in school. It was never a priority in her household. I keep telling her to stay with it and that she will probably get grants for college. It helps that our youngest graduated last year and is going to the community college, it sets a good example. It seems they take advice better from their own age group.

Re: Coffee Klatch
Aw, Flav, weird spring weather already! We going to hit 80 today and then almost 50 on Tuesday.

I just popped in to say hi and let you know the shower was a huge success! Thankfully, none of the silly games. Just good food, good friends, and Oh My, the kids got a TON of stuff! Little K won't need clothes for quite some time!LOL What they didn't get, they got about 2 inches of gift cards to go buy it with. I think they got about 4 or 5 diaper bags, too.

We did have a little scare afterwards, though. Hubs and I were getting in the car to come home and he couldn't find his wallet. We searched our car and son's car, nothing. We were about to go back to the church, when I told them to look in the backyard. Hubs and dil's dad were out there talking for awhile. Son went back there, and sure enough, one of the dogs was feasting on the wallet! Thankfully the only thing that got eaten was hubs master key-card for work. He made a new one today. The funny part was, it was his old wallet. He bought a new one last fall, in Oklahoma, but hadn't switched it out yet. There's a place that sells the one he really likes, so when we were up there the last time, he bought a new one. He just didn't need it then. He was thinking about switching it out the other day and didn't. NOW, he has too!LOL

I'm starting the fruit patch again! On the way home, we stopped in the city and I got 7 red raspberry plants and 2 grapes. I'm going to plant them this afternoon. I hope the wind will hold off long enough. I hope it works this time. I've never planted grapes before, but they do really well here. Several wineries in the area. The raspberries, I didn't do too well with the last time, but I have a better spot with amended soil now AND it's earlier in the year. Hopefully, they'll get a better start before the heat comes around.

I think we're going to be weird this year and put the garden in the front of the house so the dirt will get turned over and amended for grass this fall. Thankfully, we live in the sticks and no one will care!LOL We've been trying to get grass to grow in the front since we moved in with no luck, just weeds. You'd think with all the livestock that lived here from the previous owner the dirt would be good, not. It's terrible.

Anyway, enough of my Great American Novel, the shovel is calling me! Hard Eight, I haven't forgotten about the chili. I'll get it to you soonest. I had it posted the day the forum got attacked, but it didn't make it on. I'll try again later today or tomorrow.

thanks tb

I will check it out. I am making stuffed shells tonight, keeps the house warm and good comfort food.

Yesterday was so windy and cold I took a pork roast from the freezer and put it in the oven frozen solid thinking it would just heat the house to have the oven on, which it did, but damn that was the juiciest pork roast I ever had. Hubby wants me to cook everything frozen from now on

TB,
Hoping that spring weather comes our way!
We usually seem to get what your having!

So glad the shower went well! Gift cards are good and they can get what they need when baby gets here!

Your planting your fruit is getting me motivated TB! Gonna have to plan and do something this year, even if it a box garden!

Anyways, much rather read your Great American Novel as I am too tired to read a book at the end of the day! Love it!!!

I planted my garden last week, and just had some melons and beans poppin thru the dirt and BAM cold snap!

We covered them with empty pots and put plastic over them to keep the wind and cold out as much as possible. I will open them tomorrow and see if they made it.35978 coldoutside

Nine's, hope you're watching and ready. They're calling for Lucas, Ottawa and the rest of that tier to get 6-9 inches. A line from BG to Wooster to get more. Stay safe and warm my friend. Gotta call the folks later.

Thanks TB, your heads up is appreciated. Don't think much will come of it and if they happen to be right about it, maybe we'll luck out and they'll be right about the near 40 temp the day after, and the 50's right after that.

They haven't been right about much this year, and there's no smell in the air that comes before a storm and the animals aren't showing anything. Guess that could change at any time, but right now, there's nothing to indicate it will be bad for long. We have a winter storm warning though....found this out after I read your post. 8)

Haha! Dream on about that quiet. You'll be on edge until that baby is born. Then you'll be "really" on edge after that baby is born. From the time your child is born til the day you die, you'll be searching for the elusive "peace and quiet." But it's a good thought. lol

By 38 wks she will be ready to unload anyway! I personally think having these huge 9 lb babies is crazy for the moms, way more trauma. She seems to be somewhat out of the woods, meaning if she had the baby today, she would be within the window of safety for both her and the baby

That's what I think, too. My boys were both 10 lb.+, so yeah, that is NOT fun. The dr. is going out of town for spring break and I have a feeling little K will be born before he goes. He's backed off from the definate c-section, too, since she's started dilating. That's still just a fingertip, though.

Guess I better get moving. Looks like the site is getting glitchy again and it makes me feel stupid sitting here refreshing a page when daylight hrs. are burning. And it's a sunny day, even if it is cold. Nice one to bring in a ton of wood in case the weather report is right. You have a great one, TB and I'll catch you later.
