Quoting: flavapor I think what I like about her is her lack of ambition, in a weird sort of way. We discussed this back in the beginning, and we spoke our goals, hers was to make Gaia sucessful and be able to quit her job and work for me. Gaia isnt the soap company that we share, its mine. I have to admit, she has always pushed my stuff and not worried about selling just soap or anything even though there was no gain for her, thats why I think I am having a hard time with it. She actually meant what she said and her actions show it. So.. since nothing is going on in the way of shows, I am gonna sit status quo for now. We even spoke about her not doing the shows with me, I hurt her feelings a little but she was ok with it. I guess she cant help that she doesnt have any creativity, although she did make the gift baskets look nice for the christmas shows. Ok, I misunderstood earlier. What, exactly does she do? She makes soap, she will wrap it if I tell her to or label it, etc.. She just doesnt make pretty soap, she tries, but she has a heavy hand. Think like putting eyeliner on with one of those really large crayons for kindergarden kids! My lines are thin and pretty and hers are more like globs. She can do one color soaps or herb soaps, but other than that she has a problem with it. I do all the ordering cause I am frugal and she sees it buys it and then looks at the price. We made a deal that she would tell me what shes out of and I would order it. She was paying 3x more than me for frag oil when I met her and it wasnt any better than what I use, as a matter of fact some of it lost its scent within a week. We are going to donate a bunch of soap to the soldiers angels. Flav, it sounds to me like you have an assistant, not so much a partner. That could work. Have her concentrate on her strengths. Not everyone is artistic. Heaven knows I can't do alot of crafty things. Besides, someone has to do the basic stuff. I'm glad to hear she's not your partner in Gaia. That was my worry. That would've been a knot that would be difficult to undo. It sounds like she knows what she wants to/can do. Is there enough work for you to just pay her a wage or commission? Idk. If she isn't able to keep up, you might not have a choice. |

flavapor (OP) User ID: 964647 United States 03/25/2013 05:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you to all my friends for their kind words and support through this nightmare the last few months. I'm really tired of jumping through hoops, but hopefully it will be at an end shortly, and my grandaughter will be safely home. This ordeal has taken a physical toll on me, with all the stress and related aggrevations. it wound me up in the hospital for a few days, but I am fine now, knowing it will soon be over. The hardest part is battling the EXTREME negative feelings I have for the person responsible for all this. I try to forgive people, but right now, this is the unforgivable sin. Quoting: old guard So good to hear from you. You truly have had a nightmare on your hands. I dont think many people would not have extreme negative feelings for that person so dont beat yourself up over that. I am glad you are feeling better now and maybe the forced break from surroundings helped a little although I know hospitals are no vacation, its just good to see you post and have you back, we missed you. I do hope for everyones sake it is almost over. |

Don't know why, but when reading it, I thought of your Mom. Guess it's just that I have an impression of her that she'd like hearing it and might have some good advice...if you're looking for advice. Whatever happens, I hope it works out well for both of you. It would be much easier if you didn't actually like her. Good thoughts coming your way. TB, they make some awesome doggie undies. Even have a cute pair of bloomers, but doesn't look like they come in a size you could use. The bigger ones are just plain. She shouldn't be in heat too long though. Sure is good of you. Bet her "other" people just didn't want to bother with her. 8( Old Guard, it's so good to hear from you. You've been on my mind so much and I've been asking if anyone heard from you. Sorry to hear about your being in the hospital. Sometimes I think stress is worse on our health than an actual disease. It certainly lowers our resistance to anything. Will be so glad when it's over for you and hope GD is surviving it ok. So maddening how children can be put through things that will affect them for life by someone supposedly protecting them. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others. It sure sounds like they need you. Hugs to you and stay strong. |
