Lordy, noticed today that I was wearing two different tennis shoes. One black and silver, the other black and pink. Even better news is I wore them yesterday too. On the plus side - I have another pair just like them. Lol

Obama passes HR 933 protecting Monsanto and GMO!

2.) The provision's language was apparently written in collusion with Monsanto. Lawmakers and companies working together to craft legislation is by no means a rare occurrence in this day and age. But the fact that Sen. Roy Blunt, Republican of Missouri, actually worked with Monsanto on a provision that in effect allows them to keep selling seeds, which can then go on to be planted, even if it is found to be harmful to consumers, is stunning. It's just another example of corporations bending Congress to their will, and it's one that could have dire risks for public health in America.

Tonight was kind of strange. I talked on the phone with my biological brother. We have the same father but different mothers. My biological father was very young when I was born, and it was 1967 so he ended up finding his way into the "flower power" years. I.E., heroin. It was wierd to talk to him. He is 9 years younger than me. He, unfortunately, was raised by the biological father. Bad times. Found him on facebook. I am the oldest of my biological father's kids. I have several siblings from his side. One sister and two brothers. I can just say ~ thank you to my mom for completely cutting the strings to him. All of his other kids have drug issues and are in and out of jail. I guess my mom did the right thing even though I thought she was "the bad guy" in my teenage years. It's sad but I don't think I will try to find out more. It's just too heartbreaking. I have found 2 out of 3 of them and it just keeps getting worse. My half sister is 40 and not jail, but drug issues. I just can't deal with it. Is there something wrong with me? I have a brother from my mom and dad(step dad if you really get down to it), we were raised the same. My Dad (step) raised me as his own so there is no difference in how we are treated. My heart breaks for those other kids, but damn...you choose things every day, choose things that are legal!

That is sad. Just goes to show how outside influences are just as much as hereditary influences when it comes to dealing with that kind of stuff.

I guess when your exposed your whole life even the craziest things become normalcy cause thats what your exposed to. Its like some of those rape victim children from long ago not knowing that it was the norm. Its only in the past 20 yrs that we have taught of stranger danger, drugs, inappropriate touching, etc. in schools. Back then it was taboo so I guess if nobody mentioned it neither did the victim.

I think you are wise to just stay away if you never really had a relationship with them. You dont need to tangle your family into a montel williams show.

Sorry for how you must be feeling SO. We can't help the family we're born into but we can choose the family we later have. Some that we choose might even be blood relatives. Often, they're not, but they're every bit as much "family" as those we were born into. 8)

You can freeze them for next year or put them in whenever your planting season is.

You just put them in your garden about 1/4 to 1/2 inch down, water them and they grow into plants. Alot cheaper than buying plants at home depot that dont reproduce the following year.

ps. Dont forget to keep on the lookout for jewelweed for me this year, I need some.

I dont know where you have been but I hope it has been lovin on that new baby.

Anyway, my little experiment went pretty good with the bug repellant.

1/4 oz neem oil
1/4 t each of cedarwood, citronella, peppermint, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus.

Balance of distilled water to equal 8 oz.
Have to shake it before each use, but it worked well for us this past weekend

Neem oil. Is that the kind you get at the nursery or do you get it at the health food store? The others are essential oils?

I think its one and the same as long as its just neem and no other chemicals. I got mine from a soap supply place.

Yes the others are essential oils. www.chemistrystore.com has the EO's but I dont think they carry the neem.
