Congrats! How many years? Hope it's......memorable. LOL!!!

Thanks Hard 8, it's been a wild and wacky ride. Most of the years have been good, only a few were disasters. Thankfully we rode out the rough patches so we can enjoy the rest.

We have been together for 25 years, but only married for 14. Yes, we were those people where our kids were in our wedding. The oldest was 9 and the youngest was 5 when we made it "official".

Thank Heaven!!! I'm not the only one! On our 1st anniversary, we BOTH forgot. I had to go to the dentist that day. Our babysitter and the kids remembered. They did a banner on the computer. The printer was one of the old ones that had the attached paper.

A lot of years, we'd be going to bed and hubs would kiss me and say Happy Anniversary! I'd just be so busy, I'd forget!

Don't worry, SO. We had all but the youngest with us at ours. I know, different reason, but still kind of the same. We're 25 this past July, too.

I don't think the "training" ever ends.

It's so nice to see someone else forgets, or at least does not remember on the day. We aren't big into gifts so it just seems to slip by and creep up on us. We are going out of town this weekend. We booked a hotel on the river and thought it would be great for meteor watching, but it looks like we will still be smoked in. On the upside, they have some containment on the fires locally. The big one is 17% contained.

Discovered the secret some years back. Seperate T-V's.

Yes! Hubs also still loves to play video games, he is 48 years old. Now I read and he plays his game. Happy life!

I think at this point we have the whole relationship part down pat. Now if we can just keep healthy we should be good for 25 or more years.

As for me, I am counting down the days to school! I am fried! The first chance I get alone, I am going to sit in a hot bath and stare at the wall for a few hours! LOL

Love to play PC games also. THeir like a time warp though. Hours (days?) just fly by when engulfed by the intensity. I usually hold off now until a quiet weekend after too many all-nighters.

I think there was a reason we all found each other. So many like minds. It's nice to know we can share or look for advice without wondering "what is she/he really thinking".

I bet you are looking forward to school starting again. Hit that tub, light some candles, and drink a glass of wine (or whatever you like to drink) in the middle of the day. You deserve a little celebration just for surviving a summer of kids at home!

We call our daughter when we want to know the date. It is rather embarrassing sometimes, when in an official kind of situation, filling out forms sort of thing, and neither of us knows. But now we can start blaming it on advanced age...

I have that problem with the forum. I'll log in and just plan to check things out. Before I know it, a couple of hours have gone by.

If I don't log on for a couple of days, it's because I'm running out of time and packing boxes like a crazy woman! Don't worry, I promise not to seal myself in a box!

That's the way I see it Lily, it's natural. Can't be we are getting old. lol Our kids could answer the year, but not the precise date. Maybe I should print it up on the kids' things to know sheet.

Tax free weekend is this weekend, too. I wondered when it was, so I could avoid "those" stores! LOL We say the first sign at Target tonight.

We have been fortunate so far this year, with no fires close by. Only a couple of days so far when the air was enough to cure a ham.

Good luck on getting a breeze in the right direction to do some skygazing. Or at least enjoy the river with hubby.

It's pretty bad for fire season in Southern Oregon this year. Happens every 10 years or so. So much forest and the dry years just take a tiny spark to start them up. We had lightening in the wee hours this morning so the news says 3 more fires started. We are at over 50,000 acres on fire now.

It has been a heckuva spring and summer this year, I am just getting back into some kind of routine where I can put my feet up and enjoy a little chit chat in the evening.

I have missed being here too! Hows things in your end of Texas? I see on the weather channels that you've had some godawful storms!

I wonder when they'll realize the forestry doesn't want to clean the trash for nothing. It's so frustrating when politicians, with no idea of what they're doing, makes decisions on cutting trees or not cutting trees. That's part of the reason forestry and forest management is a science.

So many acres. Shouldn't be happening, should it? If it makes you feel just a little bit better, I don't think we'll see the meteor shower this year, either. It's been trying to rain a little. We used to call it my daughter's meteor shower. It peaks on her birthday. It was kind of a dud last year at our house, though.

Anytime, hon, anytime! I hope things are going to settle down for all of us. The storms have kind of missed us. We've gotten a little rain, but not enough to get us out of the drought. We had a couple of huge hail storms a couple of months ago, but not much since.

We have a relative who was a firefighter for years, and she said that some of the forests are enough to make you cry, with the standing deadwood. Just waiting for a spark...

For several reasons, we almost never get a good meteor shower here, the smoke, the smog, the dust all seal us in, particularly on the nights of neat celestial events.

I miss the skies when I was a child and could lay on the lawn and look up and actually see the Milky Way.
