I guess she had them sometime last night so I don't know if it was stillborn or it died. I guess Pinky is going to leave us tomorrow. That's sad but he's a big pig, about 300 lbs Delilah seems to be doing well and is hungry this morning. Yeah!! Sorry about Pinky, but I'm glad Delilah got through it well. Congratulations, Mama and gramma Flavapor!!! |

Texan Buckeye User ID: 1533753 United States 08/14/2013 08:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks TB. Quoting: flavapor Pinky is getting so pushy anyways, its time for him to go. He trys to take Delilahs food even though they both get fed, he runs from pile to pile trying to eat it all. She is a slow eater and well, he is a pig Friends that have raised pigs have told me that once that get to that kind of size or bigger, they get really hard to handle. Sounds like he's having a growing spurt, but then, pigs will be pigs! |
flavapor (OP) User ID: 42868308 United States 08/14/2013 08:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think its true TB. He is more pushy and when I am over there alone it worries me so I don't go alone anymore. He is more aggressive. He used to just follow me to the pen for food, now he nudges me hard on the leg to get at the bucket of food. They are so damn fast for big fat critters too! |

One of our neighbors up the road, has had them for several years. I think their kids are raising them for FFA or 4-H. You're right, they're really fast, when they want to be. The ones they had last year were ginormous! I'd never seen them that big. |

I cant believe how large they are either. I also didn't know they would be up walking around. I have only ever seen kittens and puppies day old. Quoting: flavapor They are guinea pig sized but taller, probably weigh about a pound Funny...that is what I was expecting to see! I was imagining to see them like little puppies.... |

Texan Buckeye User ID: 1533753 United States 08/14/2013 12:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sorry, had to go to the hospital to get my medical records. It's looking like I'll be the only one that hasn't seen it. All I know is it's 3 bdrm/2 bath with a garage that's kind of rough and the back yard has no grass. That part's ok, no one has grass. The water's salty and it kills the grass. The only other thing I know is it's been totally remodeled with new everything. We'll have to get another washer/dryer, though. I don't think there are any in the house. I hate leaving my new washer, but it looks like son is getting the job he really wanted after all. He'll be working at one of the local tv stations as master control operator. I'm not totally sure what that is, but it's something about cueing commercials and such. It's a 12 hour shift, so he won't have time to go to the Laundromat. All kinds of changes lately! The piglets are really cute and I'm glad the black one started to feed. Are their eyes open when they're born? It's been way too long since I've seen any. |

Yup, they can move like a flash, kind of scary. But I never liked pigs that much anyway, which worked out well in the long run as I really like ham, bacon and sausage and I never have had a qualm about eating them. *********** WaterLily *********** " Do I dare Disturb the universe?" -- T. That is precious! I cant beleive how big they are for just being born! Hoping the black one latches on soon!!!!! Thanks for posting! They are so cute! My grandpa always had a few hogs when I was a child, and sometime there was a runt in the litter. He would take it to my grandma to bring up, and she would keep it in a box behind the wood range where it was warm, and feed it from a bottle. When you went into the house you always knew grandma had a piglet, because of that sweetish smell they have. *********** WaterLily *********** " Do I dare Disturb the universe?" -- T. S. He isn't happy to be locked in the cage anyways, he is soooo pissed about that. Looks like he would bite if he could get to us. He is hawking us. I had to go over and put a piece of plywood against the fence and put hay to enclose it on one side and the floor cause it rained and got cold and the piglets have to stay warm. After tomorrow we can move them them to the pen that has a covered area. Here is the when we got him and when we got rid of him pics. |
