I have had one hell of a day!
First thing this morning, we gathered Pinky into the trailer to take him to the butcher, but Pinky did not want to get in the trailer so that took my son, my hubby and myself almost an hour.

We had to do a feed trail with watermelon and every time he got to the top he came back down. We stood there with pallets on the sides to corral him in and at one point he just jumped over it.

Finally a little left over roast chicken did the trick and we got him in there.

Then... we get to the place and basically the same thing getting him out, only, he was nervous for the ride and there was so much shit in that trailer when we opened it I felt sorry for my son who was gonna have to clean it.

When we got him off the trailer he didn't want to go into his pen and than took Pete, myself and 4 people from the place to get him in. I am sorry to say they had to use a shock prod to move him along cause he just wasn't having it.

Once he got into his pen we said our goodbyes. I thought it would be harder but the "nasty pig" in him came out at that point, not that I can blame him and he was very aggressive, even the pro's were afraid of him.

We got home and now our job was to get Delilah and her piglets into the pen where the water is and where there is an actual roof and area to be dry during the rain that is coming this weekend, and every other day too it seems.

Well she wouldn't leave her babes except to go about 20 ft away to where I put down some melon and feed for her.

Pete managed to get 5 of the 7 in a cat carrier before #6 squealed and all hell broke lose.

She comes charging toward him, he lets go of the carrier and jumps the fence faster than I have ever seen that guy move!

But... he leaves me in there!! Great protector my husband is.

Thankfully, Delilah didn't think I had anything to do with it cause I was standing over by where I had been feeding her so she didn't take her rage out on me. She went to the last two piglets and laid down with them. Now Pete went back in and grabbed the cat carrier and brought the 5 to the pen and we closed the door. Since Delilah was having none of this we came back to the house for a drink, did I mention it was like 94 degrees, 90% humidity and blazing sun.

About 45 mins later we tried again. This time we were smart, I grabbed my pool skimmer thing that you grab leaves off the top of the pool with, and used it outside the fence, this is where she had them, right against the fence at the roadside. We had the cat carrier again and just scooped the two piglets one at a time into the scooper and into the carrier. They never even woke up much less squealed.

Mama knew right away they were gone, and started looking for them. I brought the carrier in thru the gate and she continued to look for them. We had to try for about 30 mins to coax her into the pen. She finally came when she realized she just couldn't find them.

In the meantime, while I am going back with the last two piglets, one had gotten tangled in the fence, and one had somehow gotten between the watering pool and the fence and I thought it was dead but when I moved the pool he squealed, thank god.

Now.. after seriously all friggin day, they are all in the pen and happy. Delilah is happy to have her swimming pool back since there was only a bowl of drinking water for her near where she had her pups. Our epic adventure started at 7:30 this morning and we finished up at 4 in the afternoon, came back into the yard and walked into the pool clothes and all. I am gonna sleep good tonight.

On a side note, there are two that seem a little thinner, one is the black one and one is pink. The black one latches on but doesn't seem like he is getting anything, although not sure. He is still able to walk around and all that so I am just keeping a good eye on it for the next few days and if I have to give it some goats milk or something I will but will hope that maybe he is just growing slower or started out a little smaller. None are lethargic or anything like that. I guess I will know in a week or so if there are going to be any problems with the babies.

Now that was a heroic epic if I ever heard one!

Well done!!
