I was working as a deckhand on a tugboat and fell between a deep sea boat and a barge. Crushed by two walls of steal.

I was in ICU for 2 weeks. 3 weeks in the respiratory lung recovery. Morphine was my friend. Could have been all there was. But I know hallucingens, and this was altogether different. Plus I was told afterwards I was in and out of death, or at least the machines told them so...

Where I was, however, was in a different world,,,, then in a different dimension, then in a different time, far far away. And what I learned, the training, the practice, the trial and error, and the testing to gain strength, to overcome many debilities, to fight just so I could obtain in the end supernatural powers and begin a quest I still dont understand -- this over a 2 week period...

As far as I remember, my first trial was to meet with my crew of the tugboat. Strangely, we were tied up at a military dock where a US destroyer was tied. On shore the Americans and my crew were celebrating, there was entertainment,,, I was deathly ill from my accident but they paid no attention. I propped myself up uncomfortably and tried to ignore my condition, to try and enjoy the show. I couldnt stand it, and eventually slumped down. Someone grabbed me and brought me to the clinic aboard the destroyer. (just a side note,,, I have never been in the military and I have never been on a destroyer). I laid down and watched the commotion of people around me. Then I dozed off...

I awoke in a room of thick sheets of plastic. Wrapped around me and forming multiple bubble chambers as far as I could see. The bubbles began to fill with water,,, I saw the water engulf me and slowly it reached my face and submerged me. I took a deep breath,,, then I let it go. I could breath it. I saw medical people observing and monitoring me. (I had never been a patient in a hospital before, and as far as I was concerned this was all real and the SOP for my condition). All liquids ejected out of every orifice, the sensation was real. I was eventually taken out, very weak, I was put in white robes, and was in a very small operations room, technicians looking at monitors, lots of knobs and buttons at their finger tips. We talked, they informed me what was going on (dont remember the words). They walked me to a transition chamber, another room, closed the door and filled it with water, again until I was submerged. I felt relieved to be out of gravity and the heavy atmosphere. Another door opened and I was let into a wonderfully weird watery world of plants and strange aliens who were propelling themselves every which way. I had my own "water car" and tried to figure out how to manage it..........

What "really" happened up to this point was that after the 2 walls of steel came in on me, the wind bringing 100s of tons of steel to crush me, I knew it was inescapable, but I had several minutes to contemplate the situation. I accepted my fate, in fact I judged my life and deduced that this end would be best...

When the steel arrived, however, I dutifully resisted as any ant would avoiding the hot embers of fire. Fighting with steel, as with fire, is a losing battle. In the end, though, my instinct to live made it worse as the small space unpredictably afforded me was lost when I turned sideways to push against the walls of steel. Of course, I lost. They crushed me mercilessly. I heard, not felt, my ribs shatter....

I floated upright as my life preserver was meant to do. I looked to the blazing blue sky. More brilliant than normal. I was conscious. After several minutes, who knows how long, to catch notice of a Zodiac approaching filled with men. One lifted me, immediately I felt my body was damaged. We took off. One man talked to me, noticed I was conscious and assured me, soothed me. We eventually reached shore, ambulance waiting, more painful jerking and jostling to get me in there,,,, Then drugs... Bye bye...
