There definitely thruth to this. It was the Poles that came over and did jobs that many Brits thought were too beneath them or low paying. But a lot of these same Brits had no qualms about collecting "benenfit" (welfare). Here in the UK, a lot of people are better off on welfare than they would be if they worked a minimum paying job. My husband works in constuction and he says he'd rather have polish workers over british anyday. The poles had a much better work ethic and didn't call in sick all the time.
