Do a random act of kindness to a stranger today

Alright folks it's almost noontime, has anybody did anything yet? If so lets here it :)

A good message but you make it sound like donating to a charity to ease the conscience so you can go on with what you are doing. I rather see it as a whole lifestyle, not an easy one as the world is pretty cold so the showers are also cold. Just have to put up with it, as a lifestyle is not a switch you can turn off and on at will when it suits you.

That's how I feel about it, for what it's worth. It just seems like that we like to stick to the in between so we can switch sides wherever it suits us, instead of making a lifestyle change, but still it's a step in the right direction, practice makes perfect.

Working your ass off and expecting nothing in return, or worse than that, but that's were it's at when you set others as a higher priority than yourself, it might even come off as foolish to some/many.

I'm sorry, but holding the door open for a lady is not a random act of kindness, it is a common courtesy. At least it's supposed to be.

The other day I noticed a couple laboriously pushing their SUV down the road. All of the other motorists simply drove arround them. I pulled off the road into a parking lot and ran over and helped them push it to the gas station a block away.

That is a random act of kindness.

It's not really random if you're aware of doing it.

Bragging about your good deeds negates it's effect by the way.

I do every chance I get. It comes naturally to me.
Sharing is apart of living. If one does not share, one is not truly living.

Wasn't bragging. Just giving an example to inspire others to do the same. Sometimes its the little things that can brighten a persons day.

This is the most bullshit concept I've heard in awhile. So many people are promoting it. How about this: just be kind all the time. Be nice to people, help them how you can, don't put them down, etc.

practice kindness everyday, as often as you can.

It always starts at our innermost
Then moves on to the true intention in the smallest things
That way we create a circle
That way it gets real
A wave
Of what is right and true to flow
From and through us all
With Love and Truth

Because lets face it, humanity is pretty much ****** and most people are ***holes in general. But it can be uplifting for the helper and helpee to do a kind act every once in awhile.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying there isn't anything good about doing the "act of kindness" part. I'm only complaining about the infrequency of it. Just be a kind and nice person, and spread that message. Making it infrequent and random is an excuse. The best teacher for the world is virtue, not "random acts" now and again.

I believe in doing to others what I would have them to do to me, and there's this hot chick at the gym that I would want her to jump my bones and fuck my brains out...so I guess I'm off to the gym :)

It seems like you're doing good deeds for the wrong reason if you are looking for outward fulfillment to your actions instead of the 'inner peace' involved. Thanks for holding the door for people though!

I second that notion! I'm going to do the same. I haven't left my house today yet, but because of this thread I'm making it a goal to put smiles on people's faces. I totally agree with u. People DO need reminders. Thanks OP!!

everyday i do random acts of kindness, everyday its just a part of me now, small town america is still for the most part kind and caring
