regarding opening doors for others:

If I am already at the door and obviously capable of opening it, please don't bother.

However, if I am on crutches, in a wheelchair, holding a
bulky item, hands otherwise full, or am elderly, then it would be appreciated.

Funny thing is, I have been on crutches or carrying a heavy load and don't get help. But if dressed well and perfectly capable of opening the door the "gentlemen" seem
to come out of the woodwork.
