No bacteria is generally drug resistant, a bacteria can be resistant to certain drugs, such as certain types of antibiotics, but not resistant to everything in general - or else it would not be a bacteria.

Many things could help, how about:

- body's own immune system
- antibiotics
- counter bacteria
- salvia
- thyme
- honey
- cannabis
- heat/fever

TB was was almost eliminatedin the US. You can thank 100% the the turd world immigration over the last few decades for its resurgence.

Fucking Mexicans and southeast Asians brought it back with their filthy habits and poor hygiene

Re: BREAKING: Thousands May Have Been Exposed to Deadly TB Epidemic in Downtown Los Angeles
Tuberculosis is caused by bacteria that spread from person to person through microscopic droplets released into the air. This can happen when someone with the untreated, active form of tuberculosis coughs, speaks, sneezes, spits, laughs or sings.

Although tuberculosis is contagious, it's not easy to catch. You're much more likely to get tuberculosis from someone you live with or work with than from a stranger. Most people with active TB who've had appropriate drug treatment for at least two weeks are no longer contagious.

[link to www.mayoclinic.com]

Drug-resistant TB
Another reason tuberculosis remains a major killer is the increase in drug-resistant strains of the bacterium. Since the first antibiotics were used to fight tuberculosis 60 years ago, some TB germs have developed the ability to survive, and that ability gets passed on to their descendants.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34956621

That's a good thing assuming that we're dealing with regular TB and not a lab-created monster hybrid that makes it more contagious.
 Quoting: thinkingoutsidetherhombus

Well according to this story...
[link to losangeles.cbslocal.com]

The feds are descending on downtown Los Angeles to combat a dangerous outbreak of a drug-resistant strain of tuberculosis.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34956621

Sorry about that, I meant regular as having a level of contagiousness as the strains we've dealt with in the past. What I'm afraid of is that they've not only manufactured a drug-resistant strain, but they've also somehow made it more contagious and more likely to cause severe illness, even in people with healthy immune systems.
 Quoting: thinkingoutsidetherhombus

Oh really!!!! "They" don't have to bother "manufacturing", anything. If our overlords wanted us to all die all they have to do is stop making antibiotics and vaccines and Mother Nature can look after the manufacture of disease all by herself.

It really isn't that hard to understand, I know America s gret and all that but they aren't an all powerful God or something.

Re: BREAKING: Thousands May Have Been Exposed to Deadly TB Epidemic in Downtown Los Angeles
TB was a really big deal ... they built sanitariums for people to live out the rest of their days without infecting other people.

Mexico has not been pro-active on controlling TB.. in earlier days all immigrants to the US had to have a health screening, I cannot get to a link now but I read somewhere that a big percentage of illegal Mexicans have TB or carry it. TB is very drug resistant and antibiotics don't always work... It costs $250,000 per person to treat and for the illegals, it's free.

Why do we just keep dancing like puppets to the leaders of Mexico. NO MORE ILLEGALS!
 Quoting: Peaceplz

Exactly, but hey insisting people come legally and be screened is racist now.

Re: BREAKING: Thousands May Have Been Exposed to Deadly TB Epidemic in Downtown Los Angeles
maybe this isn't tb at all...

remember that rotting body in the water supply of that downtown la hotel? it was there for WEEKS! who knows who caught what from that...

a "bacterial infection" can totally be caught from injesting
decaying body parts.

in the middle ages they used to throw dead bodies over castle walls to infect and kill everyone inside.

this could be a new unknown plague and that's why the tb drugs aren't working.

hiding
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18380705

I like how they said the water was perfectly okay after the girl was in the tank for two weeks:

[link to www.nbclosangeles.com]

If this is true, why did the hotel patrons who were first interviewed say that the water was coming out of the tap discolored, and that it tasted and smelled funny? If the chlorine was sufficient to kill the bacteria from the dead girl, wouldn't it smell like chlorine -- not dead girl?
 Quoting: Pure of Heart

Maybe somebody dosed her with a new potent version of TB then stuck her in the tank for the purpose of starting an outbreak

The "they" you speak of are the people who had TB, were given an antibiotic regime and didn't follow through with it. These people are the labs that have manufactured the new strains of TB.

It spreads like the flu - coughing, sneezing, sharing cups/utensils, and even if someone *laughs* near you. Apparently this particular strain is drug-resistant.
 Quoting: Pure of Heart

tb is a symptom of a bacterial lung infection.

you do not get tb unless you are already ill.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34951009

This is very incorrect.

you DO NOT have to be sick to become infected with TB, you just need to breath in air droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person.

[link to www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]
 Quoting: KindaDistorted

Yes, they would like you to think that, but back in the 60s my mother had TB and was in the state hospital for a year and a half. They used to lock up TB patients in state hospitals back then. Google it.

My father would go visit her and for the most part would not follow their safety rules. He was exposed thru contact with my mom, and never came down with TB. Years later I found my mothers diary, and yes, they sneaked in what you might call some congical visits. He never got sick. All us kids never got sick.

So it depends a hell of a lot on what the status of your immune system is. If you're run down, have a poor diet, are stressed (i.e. homeless persons), then you have a much better chance of getting it.

That's not saying that healthy people won't get it. Just saying healthy people with good immune systems are less likely.

Yeah just think good thoughts, breath fresh air and eat healthily ..... That should ensure your health.

You probably forget the last fabricated TB scare with the passenger on the airplane? He was supposed to infect us all and millions would die, according to the CDC.

Same with Avian Bird Flu, Mad Cow Disease, Marburg Disease, SARS, etc, etc.

How many time can you people be fooled? and SCARED?

Hotel Cecil at 640 S. Main St. in L.A. where the body was found in the water tank, is approximately 3 blocks from the Skid Row hub in L.A. according to a Wiki map, which Skid Row is on the corner of 6th St. and San Pedro St.

yes. this is the heart of downtown.
hundreds of employees work at that hotel.
they could have easily and unknowingly spread contamination to family, friends, and the everyday people they pass by to and from work. the streets there are superbusy during the day with all kinds of people(rich and poor) passing each other in the streets, and hanging out in bars and resturants. downtown has gotten WAY busier than it was 10 years ago. it's the hip new place to live. 10 years ago it was practically empty.
