Who gives a s$#@, they don't own the cannabis so what's your point.....
 Quoting: Trompem

The "point" is it works, it's cheap, un-invasive, and should be available as a choice to all of us. Chemo kills ALL cells without prejudice. THC "teaches" or "educates" cancer cells to cannibalize themselves without danger to healthy cells.

A very close friend, who is a heavy construction worker, was a college and semi-pro inside linebacker and was strong as a bull chewed tobacco. He was diagnosed with stage FOUR throat cancer and the doctors told him he had THREE MONTHS left to live, "put your affairs in order" and start chemo to se if he could "buy" a little more time.

He went to Canada and received hemp oil treatment. in less than two weeks he was completely clear. That was over three years ago. Now he has a two year old son and is expecting another in a few months.

He showed me videos from a microscope of "H" shaped cancer cells. The one end of the "H" is elongated and wraps itself around healthy cells and consumes them. Then THC was added. Instead of consuming the healthy cells, they started "eating" each other, immediately, until there was just a few left, then just one, then it just died. Disappeared.

So the point is the government put a patent and price tag on my survival, and I don't like it. SO I GIVE A "sS#@", THAT'S WHO. So do my friend and his wife and kids.
 Quoting: Captain Spaulding 34827019

Is hemp oil/THC available in Canada for consumer to purchase? I have a family member that's suffering from liver cancer. I'm trying hard to find hemp oil treatment in the States, but the government did a good job here.

Anyone looking for CBD drops, not sure if they are strong enough to fight cancer, but it couldn't hurt. Got mine from Dixie Botanicals.

100% legal, they ship to any state, and I think they ship out of country now too. (not 100% sure on that)

On the down side, it's expensive, taken as you are directed it lasts about 2 months and costs $160 for the larger more potent bottle.

i'm really sorry to say this won't change anything because big pharma doesn't look at a plant as a single living lifeform on the planet.

they see it as something to be exploited, to be dissected and broken into individual elements which can be patented, marketed and sold.

they will gladly sell cannabis derivatives with one hand while arrested cannabis lovers with the other hand.

and best of all they're protecting their profits while they do it.

truly evil.

Just a thought right, if I was to extract oil from cannabis to about 90% purity (mix of THC and CBD) and suspend dissolve it in alcohol to a low dose and somehow put it into capsuels do you think the government would sue me if I was to sell it as a neuro-protectant?
I don't think so,

Would they take me to court for patent infringement? Doing so might be awkward for them.

His point is that the ongoing battle against marijuana is at a cost of housing a single inmate for one year for $41,000 of tax dollars while expending MILLIONS on the shitty task forces and police hours they apply to busting decent people. It's because it's a huge lie and it needs to be changed. It's because they will do everything in their power to keep anything good away and anything bad at our fingertips. BILLIONS of people give a shit. Hopefully that answers your questions.

You bring up a different topic entirely. I didn't say I agree with the law, I said who cares they own the patent for cures. Don't attack me because you want to read onto my words far more than what I said.

I think the point about them owning the patents is this:

It proves the government has done research which shows cannabis oil extract provides medical benefits. Unfortunately, cannabis is a Schedule 1 drug which means it has a high potential for abuse with no medical benefits.

The point is that the government has shown that it's own scheduling of cannabis is faulty, it should at the very least be moved down to Schedule 2. This would mean that it still has a potential for abuse, but provides significant medical benefits.

Un-Fucking-Beliveable

If I had a tad of respect left for this government it is now gone. What scum of the earth. I bet they can't figure out how they are going to keep people from growing the cure themselves. Fucking Scum!

Its all about the money and always will be.

What gives the government the right to own any patents at all?

Did the people start Government so it can compete with them?

No the government was created for a few simple matters and that is all.

Re: U.S. Government owns the patent on cannabis cures
The FDA grows marijuana at the University of Mississippi and supplies it to a small handful of Americans for medicinal purposes:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

In 1978 Robert Randall sued the federal government for arresting him for using cannabis to treat his glaucoma. The judge ruled Randall needed cannabis for medical purposes and required the Food and Drug Administration set up a program to grow cannabis on a farm at the University of Mississippi and to distribute 300 cannabis cigarettes a month to Randall. In 1992 George H. W. Bush discontinued the program after Randall tried to make AIDS patients eligible for the program. Thirteen people were already enrolled and were allowed to continue receiving cannabis cigarettes; today the government still ships cannabis cigarettes to seven people. Irvin Rosenfeld, who became eligible to receive cannabis from the program in 1982 to treat rare bone tumors, urged the George W. Bush administration to reopen the program; however, he was unsuccessful.[69]

---------------

So the federal government declares that marijuana has no accepted medicinal uses (Schedule 1 narcotic) while simultaneously supplying federally grown marijuana to U.S. citzens out of MEDICAL NECESSITY that was granted to them by the federal government.
