It is your thyroid

You may be lacking iodine. A drop in a glass of water will do.

Not sure if someone said this already, but you're not missing any nutrients per se just because you're gaining weight.

It's the protein build-up, regardless of the calorie count. 24 eggs a day is a bodybuilder's diet, so if you're subsisting mainly on eggs, I suggest you go on weight training and make good use of the eggs.

Re: What's causing my weight gain? Which nutrient am I missing?
Everyday I eat 24 or more eggs. 70 calories per eggs. 70x20 = 1400 calories. 4x70 = 280 calories. 1680 calories total.

I don't gain weight from eating eggs that's for sure. I don't even feel full/fat from eating eggs I sure still have more room to pack in more fat for my early heart attack, kidney failure, stroke, and death.

I only start feeling fat/full after eating a few green vegetables, such as broccoli, green pepper, celery, iceberg lettuce, cucumber, and spinach.

all of the above is pretty much less than 400 calories. 2100 calories a day max. I am a teenager, so 2100 is weight loss calories, yet I am gaining 2 pounds a day on average. It is not from the eggs I don't notice the weight gain from the days I only eat eggs.

Has to be the vegetables. I don't eat anything else other than eggs and green vegetables. No fruits, no grains, no dairy, no meat, no starchy vegetables. Just eggs and green vegetables.

I dare you to find one nutrient I am missing.

Eggs have COMPLETE protein, eggs have b12 vitamins.

Vegetables have other vitamins and minerals.

All the nutrients are fulfilled to some degree or other from the two above types of food.
Fat from eggs.
Carbohydrates from vegetables.
Complete proteins in perfect portions from eggs.
Vitamins from both vegetables and eggs.
Minerals from vegetables.
Calories from eggs.

I boil my eggs, with salt added. Yummy.

Make bets on how long it'll take for the salt and cholesterol combo bomb to kill me.

I couldn't get after the word eggs. You eat 24 eggs in a day??????? That is sick.

You have made your own future by eating yourself to death. Don't blame us.

You are certainly crazy. You will have all sorts of heart trouble from all that cholesterol or whatever in the eggs. That's something to eat every other day or two.

That's why some people only eat egg whites, that's somewhat healthier.

Protein is digested similar to sugar. That much protein is way too much. Stick to the veggies and only have a couple or three eggs a day. Try adding some cold water fish oil capsules too.

Iodized salt is a poor source of the compound iodide because it is not bio-available to the body. Additionally, due to poor farming techniques, deficiencies of iodine and other minerals in the soil have dramatically increased. Crops grown in iodine-deficient soil will be iodine deficient.

Re: What's causing my weight gain? Which nutrient am I missing?
It seems like you have given us a riddle, so let me take a crack at solving this diet case study.

According to Gary Taubes, too much protein can cause weight gain.
Try limiting to 60g / day. (For the average person)

Tim Ferriss suggests 30 g of protein in the am for weight loss (5 eggs will give you this) so you'll love that. That leaves you with 5 eggs for the rest of the day for 60 g. Yummy! Great with organic coconut oil, sea salt and pepper.

Fresh eggs from free range chickens are best, then store-bought organic without antibiotics, hormones, etc.

Dr. John Gray says eggs are nature's perfect food and improve health similar in the way that stem cells do.

Veggies are great, but make sure your veggies are totaling around 20-50 g / day to keep you low carb and in the losing weight 'zone'.

Fitday.com is a good free site to help totaling up all of your carbs and protein.

Maybe you could use some more good fat to make the perfect diet.

So, what do you think?

What people dont understand is that weight gain is all mental. You are starting to push against the foods you are eating.
Make sure to savor each and every bite and dont let your mind complicate it. Good luck!

Re: What's causing my weight gain? Which nutrient am I missing?
If your eating Spinach everyday you are toxic. Also everyday just like rice and you build up Arsenic in your system. Hello.

Eggs unless they are free range you are toxic.

Spinach is one no no because it is one of the most highly sprayed with chemicals vegtable you can buy.

Those chickens laying those eggs are feed GMO's and your eating a lions share everyday.

You don't gain weight the day of you gain it all the time

If you are checking your weight that much then I would gather you have an obsession with it. 2 pounds could and probably is just water.

All the Vegtables you mentioned you eat also are on the bad list for most pesticides. Wow.

You probably have a TUMOR growing inside you.

Yikes. You don't have a clue do you.

Re: What's causing my weight gain? Which nutrient am I missing?
you are missing essential vitamins and minerals

adding animal products just keeps your blood full of bacteria

synthetics have to store somewhere, often at the same place as the crap

your gut and intestines hold this stuff

until you start flushing all non-natural chemicals you won't lose weight

your body is confused. Try to ditch the animal products and go vegetarian for a while. Ween down to it over a few months if you just want to lose weight. Try it and see if you tell what might be causing you to keep dead weight

I can't say what is, but you literally have to start your system over

Thats the worst diet ever. No fruits and grains. Bet it takes less than a year and you will be having parts of you intestines cut out.

How stupid are you. Eggs make you gain weight.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34976124

I stated twice that it isn't from the eggs. On days that I eat no vegetables I have no weight gain.

extra protein will be stored as fat. greens will have lots of fiber in to make you feel full.

Maybe look into trying different types of eggs. Duck, quail, alligator, ostrich. Break up the monotony a bit.

Not even going to read past a few posts. Holy hell OP. Good fats 10-15%, carbs, 55-65%, and protein 20-35%... Somewhere in there. Stay away from trans fats, enjoy your mono and polyunsaturated fats, just a little saturated fat, and low glycemic index carbs and good lean protein and BAM, your good. Plenty of vegetables and fruits along with lean animal meat.

What the OP has failed to mention is that the eggs he eats 24 of every day are in fact ostrich eggs.

If you are under age 25, you are still adding bone mass
to the skeletal structure that starts at birth as 70%
cartilage. This adds weight, overall.

As a male, you are also adding muscle.

The average 6' male under age 25 burns 3000 calories
per 24 hour period doing nothing.

The eggs add muscle. The vegetables w/salt will cause
water retention, that will sluff on the days you only
eat eggs.

If you are doing no carb, perhaps decrease the protein (eggs) and add a bit of fat from natural sources, and increase your veggie intake in a big way. There are lots of HFLC and paleo blogs with recipes out there. Think a bit more creatively!
