The Real Reason to Worry About Bees

'Some of the leading theories about the cause of CCD include the use of certain pesticides, parasites, diseases and overall hive nutrition. Beekeeper and other organizations are pushing to stop the sale of certain neonicotinoids, insecticides that some regard as the main culprit of CCD. However, Fell said that would be premature. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently reviewed the situation and concluded that there is no scientific evidence that the neonicotinoids are causing serious problems with bee colonies.

Honeybees are not the only species of bee that can be used in managed pollination. If colonies continue declining, Fell believes that there will be an increase in the use of other species, including the bumble bee and alfalfa leafcutter bee. Ghana's dead whales: Oil linked denied

'Ghana has dismissed accusations that oil operations could have caused the deaths of several whales washed up on beaches over the past week.

A local environmental group said that the whales had only started to appear since oil production began in 2009.

The Friends of the Nation group called for a full enquiry into the deaths.

Oil firms refused to comment but the Environment Protection Agency said there were no links between the oil industry and the beached whales....'

Deer die off occurring again this year

'A whitetail deer die off is occurring again this year in Bennett County. At this point there have only been a few reports of dead deer, and all have been from the eastern part of the county.

The most likely cause of the die off is epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD), which was the cause of the die off in 2012. At this point all of the deer reported dead in this area have been whitetails, but one mule deer was confirmed to have died of the disease in a different county.

Other counties north of us are also reporting losing whitetails. There are several strains of EHD, with some of the strains affecting whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope and elk. The strain that was present last year did kill some mule deer and some elk, although the primary loss was whitetails....'

Deadly fungal disease detected outside the Pacific Northwest

'September 14, 2013 – HEALTH – A rare fungus found in soil and trees has sickened hundreds of people in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest in the last decade — and killed dozens — but scientists now say they’re seeing different strains of the potentially deadly bug in additional U.S. states. As of June, 171 cases of infection caused by Cryptococcus gatti, a fungus once confined to tropical climates, had been reported in the U.S. That includes at least 100 cases in Oregon and Washington, where officials have been tracking an outbreak since 2004. But at least 25 cases have been detected in eight states outside of the Northwest since 2009 — and six of those patients died, according to a new report in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases. Drug-resistant 'superbugs' deemed urgent threats, CDC says

'Antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea, a diarrhea-causing superbug and a class of fast-growing killer bacteria dubbed a "nightmare" were classified as urgent public-health threats in the United States on Monday.

According to a new report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at least 2 million people in the United States develop serious bacterial infections that are resistant to one or more types of antibiotics each year, and at least 23,000 die from the infections.

"For organism after organism, we're seeing this steady increase in resistance rates," Dr Thomas Frieden, director of the CDC, said in a telephone interview. "We don't have new drugs about to come out of the pipeline. If and when we get new drugs, unless we do a better job of protecting them, we'll lose those, also."'

Hot spot deep beneath North America could have triggered quakes

'A hidden hot spot deep within the Earth could have set off seismic activity causing some earthquakes in the eastern United States.

Researchers have discovered a track of hot rock at the base of the North American plate, stretching from Missouri to Virginia. It marks a trail, they say, where the westward-drifting continent passed over a hot spot tens of millions of years ago. A hot spot is the top of a plume of abnormally hot, buoyant rock in the mantle that wells up like a blob in a lava lamp.

Hot spots can fuel volcanoes, and scientists think a hot spot in the Pacific Ocean created the Hawaiian Islands. Under much thicker continental rock, mantle plumes may heat up but rarely leave a mark on the surface, Risheng Chu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and colleagues argue September 15 in Nature Geoscience.

The hot spot’s heat, however, might have stretched and pulled the North American plate, causing the brittle crust to crack and initiating seismic activity in the eastern U.S. “If a hot spot indeed exists, it’s plausible that the structure could trigger seismic activity,” says Matthew Fouch, a seismologist at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C. For instance, the hot spot might have activated the New Madrid zone, which is famous for unleashing a series of powerful quakes in 1811 and 1812 that rattled the Midwest....'

'A plume of hot material rising from deep within the earth scarred the underside of the North American tectonic plate as it drifted westward millions of years ago, suggests research published today in Nature Geoscience1. The residual heat still affects seismic waves travelling through the continent, even though the mantle plume is now under the Atlantic Ocean.

When such mantle plumes occur beneath thin oceanic crust, they often punch through and create volcanoes — the Hawaiian Islands are a prime example2. But older, colder and thicker continental crust is not so easily breached, says Risheng Chu, a geophysicist at the Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics in Wuhan, China. The only signs on land of ancient hotspot paths typically are kimberlites — volcanic and sometimes diamond-bearing rocks that mark the site of an ancient, deep-seated eruption....'

Dreams from last week...very weird!

Dream 1 - I was in a bar/club, I was with a group of people I didn't recognize but we seemed to be close friends. One of the females in the group I was with appeared to be Asian. We were having a good time talking when a group of guys walked in that were also appeared Asian. I instantly knew they were part of some gang and the next thing I know I was fighting the leader of the group. I worked him over and afterwards we had drinks together and they joined our group. (I remember saying "Marines are a different breed" I am a Marine but I have no idea why I said that after the fight, I think someone asked why I got into the fight in the first place) I believe the fight started because of the Asian female in my group.

Dream 2 - I was in the same bar/club but at a different table. This time it was just myself and the asian female from the previous dream. A prostitute walked up to us and started talking, she flashed an old style 100 dollar bill (prior to 2006) and I said not interested. All the sudden there was who I am guessing is her pimp walking up demanding that we pay for her time. I kept thinking to myself that I didn't want to be beat up by a Russian pimp (not sure why I thought he was Russian). Next thing I know I picked up the wooden bar stool and hit the pimp with it. The first strike with the chair only made him laugh so I started hitting him harder with it. Ultimately there were wood pieces all over the floor in the bar and the pimp was laying in a bloody heap. Everyone in the bar then started applauding me. That's when the dream ended.

Dream 3 - Not so much a dream but I suddenly awoke at 5:11 AM, for some reason I knew to look at the clock as soon as I woke and the follow phrase kept repeating in my head "Remember, Remember the 5th of November." All day that phrase kept resonating in my head.

I have no idea what all this means. Just thought they were very odd dreams.

I've felt that was the most important one as well. I think the others are my mind trying to organize my thoughts from all the current events in the world with China, North Korea, Russian, etc in addition to some things going on in my personal life. This is based on some dream interpretation websites I perused to try and get an understanding. If you look back in this thread there have been other dreams that I've posted that you may find interesting.

I've been trying to document it anyways. Most people don't seem to care. Thank you for taking this seriously. I feel like I am going crazy. I don't understand how people cannot see what is going on around them. Yes, the meteor dreams were intense but I was completely calm and for some reason knew I was safe. The grim reaper dream did not get to me as much as the dream of being executed on stage. I think I was a martyr in that one.

Now I really will sound crazy.

Since I was young I have felt I was destined to lead people during very trying times. I've also been able to "read" people and can tell right off the bat whether they are being honest and if they are a "good" or "evil" person. I guess that's why I am very good at sales and training. I've also been able to "connect the dots" where most people around me could not. I'm very observant and do see a lot more than most people I've met. Almost clairvoyant I guess. There's been many times I know what's going to happen or be said before it happens.

I know I'm here to educate and lead...lead to where and what I am educating people about I have no idea yet.

I feel lost...I'm at a crossroads in my life and don't know what to do. I'm tired of everything modern society strives towards, it's all about money and things. Those do not interest me at all anymore.

All I want to do is absorb knowledge and try to get other people to understand, I cannot stop reading books of all types, history, philosophy, medical, survival/life skills, etc...I typically am reading 3 or 4 books at any given time. I barely sleep and eat very little. I feel obligated to learn as much as I possibly can so I can help people and assist in the trying times ahead.

I truly believe something "big" is coming, I don't know what, I do know the only way to prepare is mentally. Stuff & things are not going to save you. I do not subscribe 100% to any particular religion. They all have there merit but none of them are completely correct. I do know, in every fiber of my being, that a relationship with God is the only thing that can save you from what is coming.

Thank you for at least being a sounding board for me...I really needed to get that off my chest. The "zombies" I interact with daily simply wouldn't understand and most likely would prefer to check me into the local rubber room.

Crushed Millipedes may have Played a Role in Australian Train Crash

'Officials in western Australia are investigating whether a train crash was caused by an infestation of millipedes on the tracks.

The insects were reportedly gathered on the train tracks by the hundreds where the accident occurred.

The minor crash involved an occupied passenger train and an empty train in the town of Clarkson, about 25 miles north of Perth, The Australian reported, adding that some people involved in the accident complained of sore necks. At least six were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Hundreds of Black Portuguese millipedes were reportedly found squished on the tracks at the scene of the accident, prompting transportation authorities to suspect the insects may have played a role in the crash by making the tracks slippery....'

1000 tons of polluted Fukushima water dumped in sea

'The operator of the leaking Fukushima nuclear plant said Tuesday that it dumped more than 1,000 tons of polluted water into the sea after a typhoon raked the facility.

Typhoon Man-yi smashed into Japan on Monday, bringing with it heavy rain that caused flooding in some parts of the country, including the ancient city of Kyoto.

The rain also lashed near the broken plant run by Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO), swamping enclosure walls around clusters of water tanks containing toxic water that was used to cool broken reactors.

Some of the tanks were earlier found to be leaking contaminated water.

"Workers measured the radioactive levels of the water collected in the enclosure walls, pumping it back into tanks when the levels were high," said a TEPCO official.

"Once finding it was mostly rain water they released it from the enclosure, because there is a limit on how much water we can store."

The utility said about 1,130 tons of water with low levels of radiation -- below the 30 becquerels of strontium per litre safety limit imposed by Japanese authorities -- were released into the ground....'
