I'm a Reform Jew. I don't believe in Lucifer and our concept of G-d is a bit more... abstract than the Judeo Christian belief of a man who sits watching and judging. Also, when attending synagogue services, I have never once heard or witnessed anything "shady" or "demonic" in nature. Everything is singing chants and prayers about forgiveness, about getting along, about doing good. Nothing unkind is ever said about non-jews and we are always encouraged to speak, to communicate, to help others and to be good. All kinds of people attend: doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, office workers, retired people. Some are great people, some I wouldn't waste my time on, but inside the temple, we are all the same. My favorite part is when we call in the children (there is an onsite daycare center we can use if we want) and we face each other, then we place our hands on their little heads and say a special blessing for our sons, and a separate one for our daughters, my daughter loves this as well. Aside from the hebrew chants and prayers, it's not that much different than a Catholic mass (as my dad is Catholic I have attended those as well) except no Jesus and we don't do pagan things like "eating the body of" or "drinking the blood of". Or falling over speaking in tongues. We don't "recruit" people nor do we try to impose our beliefs on others.

What we all Jews share is thousands of years of history, of struggle, of survival. We are all interconnected by our DNA, that is what makes us stick together. Do we like money? The Jew has an unquenchable desire to provide for his/her family, it's inherent in us! We have a gift and are good at making money, but most of us are also extremely generous, as part of our dogma dictates that we help others and not just ourselves.

And by the way, in case it hasn't been mentioned, (haven't read the whole thread) "Lucifer" is a title for a king of Babylon, not his name and NOT Satan.

The God of the OT was not psycho pathic, he was trying to funnel a select group of people into a long term evolutionary plan to find the people with the most "light" in their DNA so to speak.. All of us are LIGHT. The neurons in the brain fire off with electric impulses that can be seen firing and flashing like city lights.
