Airports do have the option of hiring private security, but I think it is with the 'approval' of DHS or TSA, don't remember which. (Sorry to be vague on this; I didn't research it)
Wonder how many have tried and actually did it or have been turned down?

People need to demand their local Airport Authority hire their own security!

I think there will be a turn that, instead of furloughing all of the proposed TSA employees, that they will be "reassigned" to other public transit means, within terminals (already happening), and, of course, the Interstate system under the continued guise of anti-terrorism.

If so, a simple trip to the grocery will be an exercise of operating under an iron curtain. Some will surely object to these "check points", and the ensuing unrest/ opposition will be the fuel necessary and already calculated in to further the emplacement of even more restrictions.

The emplacement of additional checks and restrictions will lead to not only the Interstate system, but on your primary roads, and will even grow to within your local grocery or even Walmart in your town.

How will all of this be staffed, since they're already talking of furloughing so many people currently, you ask?

1) The "new threats" - translating to American citizens fed up with this encroachment - will "justify" a new budget line for funding.

2) O & Co. can (will) issue an new EO prioritizing the funding and support of the new program, in response to the "New threats".

3) This creates the PERFECT scenario for utilizing the youths in mandatory service discussed here in the last few days. Even as "support" personnel, these minions will be brainwashed to believing they are doing their part in opposing these dissidents opposing the new program(s).

The sequester will result in $22Billion being cut from this years $1.2Trillion dollar budget.

None of this even happened when the government actually DID shut down in the early '90s yet, somehow, today, $22 Billion in cuts will grind the nation to a hault.

Well first off...we don't have a budget, and we haven't had one in 4 years now...

Second, it will be 100 Billion in cuts this year, knocking about 22 Billion off of the deficit, which is still projected to run around 1 to 1.2 Trillion...

Govt spending however is over 3 trillion...

However I agree with you, these cuts are not that big, and they are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

And if they do have that big an effect, we should be asking ourselves, why? If the Govt is still spending 3 trillion plus each year, how come they can't afford to gas up the Carriers or keep the lights on at the Airports?!?!? Where is all of that money going?!?!?

But of course we have no clear answer...because again, we haven't had a budget since the deficit ballooned to over a trillion dollars a year, four years ago...

You do realize these aren't really "cuts"? It is just a decrease in the RATE of spending. WE are still going to spend more money than last year so it is not really what we all think of as a cut! No one should have to lose their job! They are once again insulting our intelligence and pulling their scare tactics. Now a real cut would be if they got rid of 50% of the gov't! That I would applaud!

One of the main points of Obama's State of the Union speech was Obama's statement that the U.S. has to do more against global warming. He clearly stated that all scientists were in agreement on this.

Well, we all know Mr. Obama is an astounding liar as we know that all scientists are NOT in agreement with the cause of global warming, not are many in agreement that global warming is continuing.

I'm not standing on my soap box here, what people should know is that there is a proposal by the UN and other global elite hangouts that the U.S. would pay a BIG tax to the world banks so they will be able to solve the problem of global warming whether its actually warming or not.

Now this thread is about the "SEQUESTER" which means your tax dollars are not going to be doled out on YOUR behalf because our taxes are inadequate to cover all the funding that they used to. HOWEVER, by no means will there EVER be a reduction to the interest that we pay the Federal Reserve! Far worse that that, we will be paying International Taxes to the UN so they can study global warming AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO PAY THE "TOO BIG TOO FAILS" PAYMENTS TO THEM!

As I have said... President Obama is a man of the people, that is, a man for the people who elected him into office twice and who he expects will elect him into future terms as well.

But the poor now have their cell phones which means that the middle class now have everything it needs, so their is no problem with making up a word that means "AUSTERITY," but sounds like some college lingo meaning we're too well off to pay as little taxes as we do.

Everyone knows that the cuts can easily be accomplished without impact to infrastructure, critical systems, or national security. If you don't by now, you're willfully ignorant. So, if these assholes choose to implement sequestration in this manner, I'm guessing not only will the majority be calling for their resignations, I wouldn't be too surprised to see a few pitchforks pop up on Capitol Hill as well.

My guess is that they want this, so be careful.

That said, a concerted recall of all representatives should ensue shortly after any attempt to do other than what we all know needs to be done. Regardless of whether or not it is allowed by state or federal "law," because we also all know that these traitors have only written these laws to protect themselves - so they are by their very nature illegal.

In short, we must ALL now DEMAND that these lawmakers vacate their seats in whatever fashion necessary (and hopefully peacefully), and then commence new elections that are constitutionally sound and at least somewhat more legitimate than they are now. Only then will we begin to reverse the damage they've done.

Did I not just say that above? People need to stop repeating the administrations mantra of cuts, cuts, cuts. It is total BS, there are no cuts.
