Yes, lately I've seen ads for pole dancing classes on the site of the Latin American version of Groupon.
At least they have the decency to show the model in the pole dance ad wearing a gymnast's leotard and ballet shoes with her hair up in a bun while striking a graceful pose reminiscent of a ballerina. Perhaps, it is false advertising, and the moves are more risque? I don't know. It seems much of modern dance has become risque in my opinion.
I will admit that my eyebrows went up when I saw the ad. Pole dancing is something I have always associated with strippers. I just have a hard time viewing it as a legitimate art form or wholesome way to exercise.
If you want to learn demanding moves, increase your poise, strength and flexibility, and feel better about yourself, then why not take a ballet class instead?
