Quoting: LunaHominem [link to www.skyandtelescope.com] [link to www.spacedaily.com] Like it or not, this meteor's direction of travel was completely different from 2012 DA14. Had it been caused by a meteoroid traveling several hours ahead of 2012 DA14 it would not have hit the Urals and it would not have hit in that direction. We know this now, we know what direction it came from and it was not from 2012 DA14. Like it or not, not one of the "sources" you linked to is reliable. And weren't you just talking about "non-sequitors" a few posts back? LOL! Your first "source" ( [link to www.skyandtelescope.com] provides absolutely no directional data on the Chelyabinsk "meteor". This is perhaps the most certain aspect of the entire event." Utter bullshit, Pete. Your claim that Peter Brown is a "shill" is unsubstantianted, undocumented bullshit. I'll put my money with the folks whose statements are more in conformity with "cosmic coincidence" that occurred on February 15th - like David Dunham (who predicted a collision in association with DA14 and whose calculations and data I would love to examine) and Professor Tatiana Bordovitsina from Tomsk State University in western Siberia and Professor Ian Crawford of Birkbeck University. |

I like your posts Astro, and appreciate the science you bring to the forum, but that is one hell of an over the top statement. Flying a command module is not at all like flying a plane. In fact, in terms of Apollo 8 you could even have hypothetically flown the entire mission without once going to SCS except to finish nulling rates from time to time. I know how to operate it as far as getting to the moon and back. I do not claim to be an astronaut or as skilled as one or ready to jump in a rocket and blast off. That said, it is not really comparable to flying a plane either. Flying a command module is far more about systems management, you barely even have to touch the stick if you'd prefer not to. Please stop trying to twist what I said into something I didn't say. ![]() |
