I called Peter Brown a shill based on the only information that I know about him: his blind, unsubstantiated assertion in an article that YOU cited in support of your position.

I said I know how to, and I do. Of course I can only test that knowledge in a simulation and I don't exactly have a centrifuge to recreate the g-forces involved, but I do know how to work the systems and get the spacecraft to the moon and back. I said nothing about "competing" with the astronauts who flew to the moon, though I do relish the thought of talking with some of them about the nitty gritty details of flying that machine. They were of course far more skilled and extensively trained than myself, I make no bones about that. But you're missing the point; one can know how to fly to the moon and back, but it has nothing to do with finding every single ~15 meter sized rock that comes close to earth. The latter is a far more difficult and very different task.

It is not a blind claim. He has done the analysis and presented his results. I'm sure they'll publish the full details in a while, but since you're so eager to disbelieve him then contact him and take issue with the details yourself. He's not operating on the assumption that jackasses online will automatically disbelieve him because they'd rather believe 2012 DA14 had something to do with it.

I thought I knew how to fly aeroplanes through lots of theory, reading and using simulations. Then I had my first flying lesson and realised I had no idea of how to do it. I have a pilots license now and know that any idiot with a book and flight simulator can claim to know how to fly, but they would crash burn and die on their first real world attempt.

It is a blind claim. Brown provided no evidence for his assertion. He simply asserted (without providing any evidence) that:

Those are Peter Brown's words, not mine. Nowhere in that article is their one shred of evidence to back up his assertion.

I'll put my money with the folks whose statements are more in conformity with "cosmic coincidence" that occurred on February 15th - like David Dunham (who predicted a collision in association with DA14 and whose calculations and data I would love to examine) and Professor Tatiana Bordovitsina from Tomsk State University in western Siberia and Professor Ian Crawford of Birkbeck University.

Flying a command module is not at all like flying a plane. In fact, in terms of Apollo 8 you could even have hypothetically flown the entire mission without once going to SCS except to finish nulling rates from time to time. I know how to operate it as far as getting to the moon and back. I do not claim to be an astronaut or as skilled as one or ready to jump in a rocket and blast off. That said, it is not really comparable to flying a plane either. Flying a command module is far more about systems management, you barely even have to touch the stick if you'd prefer not to.

All the evidence points to it, evidence I have already gone over with you. Oh, but you already said you automatically discount all videos from dash cams which show the trajectory of the meteor. You're the one who's blind and ignoring the evidence. All Peter Brown did was NOT ignore it and then reconstructed the orbit from that evidence. If you want the details, contact him. You won't do it though because you refuse to open yourself up to the possibility of being wrong.
