By [ link to www.calsky.com] there are about 139 Comets in the nightsky at my location....Grant it you cant see em without an HST or a ground based telescope as big as your house. On a perfect night with the right equipment a 8" GBT can get around 13 0r 14 max magnitude. The Dr. is the man on this so if I messed up any please correct it Astro.
