Connecting the Dots
The issue of food and oil prices, gun control, use of drones, obamacare, the federal budget, recent bills and laws passed are all connected and they will all lead to one final result--- civil unrest which then leads to martial law and the media will sway it so the people will support it with open arms.

Droughts all over the globe are a major factor in the rise of food costs. With cloud seeding tech they could easily help reduce the effects of the droughts but they chose not to. The speculators that work for the big financial institutions are betting against the food supply which results in higher prices.

Oil has skyrocketed in price since the start of this year, in my area it was around 3.60-3.70 at the start of the new year. Now it is 4.15 and rising every week, we might see it drop it price by at the most 20 cents in order to calm people down but as usual they will rise again. its like the frog in the boiling water, you slowly heat up the water until it kills it instead of throwing it into boiling water.

The economy is still in the shitter, unemployment is over 10% (its not 7.8 or whatever bullshit number they come up with now), record number of people are relying on the government while the government refuses to cuts it severely bloated budget. They are using scare tactics in order to sway the public into dismissing the idea of cutting the budget.

And it gets worse, Last year when the FAA gave the go ahead for the use of drones in this country, they said it would only be used to protect the people. Fast forward to today and now the government had pretty much been given the ok to target US citizens with drones without the need for a trial. They say its for terrorists but who do they consider to be terrorists.

Re: Connecting the Dots
Now to the issue of guns. In light of recent mass shootings, the government and media have been screaming for strict gun control measures. Some states like New York (where i live) have passed some measures like a 5 round magazine and banned several types of weapons. Many counties have oppossed these measures which means the gov has to come up with a better solution to rid the country of guns. And boy did they find a good solution. So they decided to buy billions of rounds of ammunition from suppliers in order to keep it out of the hands of the people. This was way before the recent Sandy Hook massacre which shows you, who was really behind the shooting.

Rising food and oil prices plus the grab for guns doesnt exactly bring a smile to the face of the people. So as things get worse the anger builds up until eventually we start to see mass protests which leads to clashes with the police. Then something big will happen like a bombing or another shooting which results in many casualties. That will be the final straw, the government will initiate martial law in order to 'protect the people'. The media will spew out biased 'news' in order to sway the people to welcome the following. You will see the ban on firearms, crack down on protests and even the internet in order to erase any criticism towards the government.

This has been in building up for years, even before obama so its just not him.

derp how could i forget about obamacare. IRS is now saying the lowest plan for a family is 20k a year. No one will be able to afford that since food and oil prices are skyrocketing.

What they have in common is called CLOWARD-PIVEN. The plan where TPTB make impossible demands through regulations and taxes, as well as foster public anger/dissent against businesses (even the good ones) in order to crash the system and rebuild as a socialist/communist state.

It's planned for a long time.

The truth is there for those who will see.

What I find most frustrating is while the vast majority of these problems were created by government actions, they have been successful in making people believe (through a complicit media) that others are to blame.

This sets them up as the "saviors" when the time comes.

They have been successful in pitting workers against employers, consumers against business, borrowers against banks, blacks against whites, democrats against republicans, religion against religion. You see it right here at GLP every day.

While everyone is pointing fingers and blaming the other group, TPTB stays above it all "blameless" and so few will put the blame where it deserves.

THIS IS ALL a manufactured crisis. If you go back to the root of every problem you will find TPTB had a hand in creating it and the roots are the same in every country. It is all brought about by a failed ideology which seeks to create a utopia where all the power is controlled at the top.

There are many who think this controlled power at the top will solve the world's ills, but this will NEVER work because mankind is fallible and corrupt including those who seek to rule us. You can never create utopia because you will never eliminate sin.

OP, everything you have written here is so true and some facet or another of the big picture is discussed on GLP on a daily basis.

Those of us who are concerned have been calling & writing their local & federal political reps.

We could also step up postings on this situation in other venues such as other internet sites and writing to newspapers and just taking to more people about it. Pick a topic!

The pathogen is about the size of a virus and reproduces like a micro-fungal organism. According to Huber, the organism may be the first micro-fungus of its kind ever discovered, and there is evidence that the infectious pathogen causes diseases in both plants and animals, which is very rare.

Re: Connecting the Dots
8 striking parallels between the Fall of Rome and the U.S.

1 -- Staggering Increase in the Cost of Elections, with Dubious Campaign Funding Sources: Our 2012 election reportedly cost $3 billion. All of it was raised from private sources - often creating the appearance, or the reality, that our leaders are beholden to special interest groups. During the late Roman Republic, elections became staggeringly expensive, with equally deplorable results. Caesar reportedly borrowed so heavily for one political campaign, he feared he would be ruined, if not elected.

2 -- Politics as the Road to Personal Wealth: During the late Roman Republic period, one of the main roads to wealth was holding public office, and exploiting such positions to accumulate personal wealth. As Lessig notes: Congressman, Senators and their staffs leverage their government service to move to private sector positions - that pay three to ten times their government compensation. Given this financial arrangement, "Their focus is therefore not so much on the people who sent them to Washington. Their focus is instead on those who will make them rich." (Republic Lost)

3 -- Continuous War: A national state of security arises, distracting attention from domestic challenges with foreign wars. Similar to the late Roman Republic, the US - for the past 100 years -- has either been fighting a war, recovering from a war, or preparing for a new war: WW I (1917-18), WW II (1941-1945), Cold War (1947-1991), Korean War (1950-1953), Vietnam (1953-1975), Gulf War (1990-1991), Afghanistan (2001-ongoing), and Iraq (2003-2011). And, this list is far from complete.

4 -- Foreign Powers Lavish Money/Attention on the Republic's Leaders: Foreign wars lead to growing influence, by foreign powers and interests, on the Republic's political leaders -- true for Rome and true for us. In the past century, foreign embassies, agents and lobbyists have proliferated in our nation's capital. As one specific example: A foreign businessman donated $100 million to Bill Clinton's various activities. Clinton "opened doors" for him, and sometimes acted in ways contrary to stated American interests and foreign policy.

5 -- Profits Made Overseas Shape the Republic's Internal Policies: As the fortunes of Rome's aristocracy increasingly derived from foreign lands, Roman policy was shaped to facilitate these fortunes. American billionaires and corporations increasingly influence our elections. In many cases, they are only nominally American - with interests not aligned with those of the American public. For example, Fox News is part of international media group News Corp., with over $30 billion in revenues worldwide. Is Fox News' jingoism a product of News Corp.'s non-U.S. interests?

6 -- Collapse of the Middle Class: In the period just before the Roman Republic's fall, the Roman middle class was crushed -- destroyed by cheap overseas slave labor. In our own day, we've witnessed rising income inequality, a stagnating middle class, and the loss of American jobs to overseas workers who are paid less and have fewer rights.

7 -- Gerrymandering: Rome's late Republic used various methods to reduce the power of common citizens. The GOP has so effectively gerrymandered Congressional districts that, even though House Republican candidates received only about 48 percent of the popular vote in the 2012 election -- they ended up with the majority (53 percent) of the seats.

8 -- Loss of the Spirit of Compromise: The Roman Republic, like ours, relied on a system of checks and balances. Compromise is needed for this type of system to function. In the end, the Roman Republic lost that spirit of compromise, with politics increasingly polarized between Optimates (the rich, entrenched elites) and Populares (the common people). Sound familiar? Compromise is in noticeably short supply in our own time also. For example, "There were more filibusters between 2009 and 2010 than there were in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s combined."
