I love KFC and you do too- Just admit it...

I remember clearly the first time I ate KFC, either the late 50's or early 60's. I thought it was the best thing I'd ever tasted.

I was with two young guys and on the way to a drag race. They stopped and one of them when in and came back with a bucket full of it.

I couldn't believe how much I liked it.

But it's not the same any more. It will have to remain a memory because I have no intention of buying it again.

Popeyes is disgusting. Dry and flavourless. And what's with the biscuit? Chicken and a biscuit? Wtf!

KFC's soft dinner roll with mashed potato and gravy is awesome!

KFC has 11 herbs and spices, while Poopeyes (sic) has 1 spice made from ground up poop.

Red Rooster is the best in BBQ chicken category.

I knew some kids back in high school who worked at a KFC. They used floor sweepings for the seasoning and randomly deep fried cockroaches with the chicken. Enjoy your bucket.

then it only stands to reason that these 'employees' homes wouldn't 'pass inspection' either....LOL

I buy KFC a couple of times per year.Use to eat it more often but its been changing for awhile like most other foods.Its also getting very expensive.
Kroger deli has good fried chicken and its much cheaper.So I usually get it there when I do want fried chicken which isnt often

Soak your chicken in buttermilk for about 15 minutes then use coat it in flour... or some sorta batter/coating... whatever you like...

but the secret to awesome chicken is soaking in buttermilk

I know the woman who invented the original recipe in new Market va.The restaurany was called MD's Chicken in the rough.Well ole colonel heard about how good it was so he drove up here and made her an offer she couldn;t refuse for the recipe.I don't know the exact amount but I'm sure it wasn't enough.Anyway MD's burned down in the early 80's I believe but they had the true original recipe and it was way better than KFC.

+1. KFC used to be SUBLIME, with its 11 herbs and spices, up until the late 70's, early 80's. Presumably some corporate big wig had the bright idea of cutting back on the spices or changing to a cheaper supplier or whatever to save a few pennies and get himself a big fat pay check.

Now the breading tastes like flour and salt. Add in t big mutant chicken breasts.

Albertson's grocery store has really good fresh fried chicken.

I hate KFC :( first thing I ever had was one of those bowls with the chicken and potatoes and yuck. I was probably like 15 or so and threw it up as soon as I finished it. Hubby will eat it on occasion but all I can stomach is their Mac & cheese.

We do Popeye's every couple of weekends... and every time I go to pick it up the place is packed.

Yup... Popeyes is the best. And their shrimp and beans and rice...

Folks get mad when they can't get that Popeye's chicken!

They seem to make it tougher than they used to....so its not as nice as it once was. In the 80s it was really good, then they changed something....to comply with health laws. Plus they got rid of the corn here in Oz. I used to love the corn.
