A political analyst tells Press TV that there are all kinds of sexual decadence, blackmail and financial corruption at the highest levels in the West and unfortunately it seems to have touched the Catholic Church.


The comments came after a new report said that Pope Benedict XVI decided to resign as head of the Catholic Church after learning about the extent of sex and graft scandals inside the Vatican. On February 11, Pope Benedict XVI, the spiritual leader of Christians, said he intends to officially step down from his post at 1900 GMT on February 28 since he is no longer able to carry out his duties because of his advanced age.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Kevin Barrett, with the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance, to further discuss the issue. What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Why exactly would the Pope resign from the church, leaving it in such a condition?

Barrett: Well this is essentially unprecedented, it's been I believe seven centuries since something like this happened. And just hours after the Pope resigned I published an article pointing out that obviously he did not simply resign because he was old. Popes do not resign, they are fired by God. They normally die in office. So obviously there was something very serious going on causing the Pope to resign.

And the reports coming out now including one recently published in La Repubblica in Italy suggest that it is indeed Vatican corruption that has caused the Pope to resign. The sources close to the Pope said that there was a closeted homosexual ring high level in the church and there was also tremendous amount of financial corruption.

They said that the sixth and seventh commandments were being systematically violated at high levels of the church. The sixth commandment forbids corrupt sexual acts and the seventh commandment enjoins theft.

So this is actually very common problem in all Western societies, it is not just the church. The entire West I believe has started violating the six and seven commandments. We have very, very widespread financial corruption and indeed it is money that motivates most people in the West, it isn't religion and sexual morality no longer exists in the West and especially at the higher levels.

Just to give you a couple of examples, both Presidents Bush here in the USA were known to be consorting with call boys that is under age male prostitutes who spent the night in the White House. The headline from The Washington Times newspaper for Thursday June 29, 1989 says homosexual prostitution inquiry ensnares VIPs with Reagan and Bush and the subhead is call boys took midnight tour of White House.

That happened under Bush the elder in 1989 and again with his son in office after 9/11 we had Jeff Gannon the homosexual prostitute posing as a journalist spending the night repeatedly with the President in the White House.
