I believe most are missing the point. She died of unatural causes. This is self evident. Her whole death is wrapped in mystery.
It is obvious that those responsible used her as a marker. A statement only for those who see. Not the general population.
The key is not so much her death, but would more likely be in her name and how she was disposed of. She was disposed i such a way as to "contaminate". Her name is related to a TB antigen. When the letters of her name are rearranged, they bring pointers to Malaise 1 - the feeling of unease as at the onset of a disease or illness and to the phrase Sa Mallei which means its Mallei which means Mallei Bacterium which produces TB or Ganders.
These are just a couple of ideas.
