Now she reportedly went missing January 31 and wasn't found
until February 19 (?) so this is more than likely nothing.

Still, just an odd detail considering where Elisa was found
AND mention of a fellow with a sloping gut.
(Could this be the 'Boss' in the "My Oriental Queen'

something i wanted to say...
the Cecil is surrounded by buildings that are as tall (if not taller)--
The only exception is a mini-mall below it to its South.
I'm sure some wondered why nobody would have seen someone
carrying a body on the roof --

Years ago i would have suggested that most of those buildings where empty by night.
As they had been rented out as 'sweat shops' to lesser design firms in the garment industry.
To confirm what i believed to still be true i phoned the management to the building across the street from the Cecil
(being in line to the water tanks).

According to Google Maps the address for the building shows as 666 S. Main Street >>>shiver<<
but they now use the cross street for its official address (111 W. 7th St.) and is known as the SB Main Building.
I just wanted to request the availability of a commercial/sewing space and was surprised to have
my call handled as someone seeking a loft/apt (instead of what i thought to still be a working sweatshop venue)

So it startles me to discover that this building would indeed have housed a number of potential witnesses the day/night Elisa was taken to the roof.

nice, and thanks for making the effort to call them :)

ok, just to make sure i understood it correctly.
there is a building right across the cecil, higher than cecil with good view to the water tanks.
it is not a commercial building as supposed, but rents out apps? did they mention what kind of appartements and what price?

i´m asking because given the location/surrounding "hood", i would suppose cheap appartments sell better than commercial rooms there. and given the clients in that area, i don´t expect them to be on their windows watching the cecil all the time.
but interesting nonetheless..

Hi again, to answer your questions... while the building in its entirety is not in line with the Cecil, a good portion of it is. --
when i lived in LA it was zoned commercially for these sewing rooms (You see a good many air conditioners, open windows and seamstresses
hanging out the window in the U2 video i brought up earlier).

Now only the street level is available commercially and the remainder have been converted to lofts.
I did not get price quotes as I was instructed to speak to another staffer by the name of Cassandra (her phone number is 213.761.9456)
i was mostly wanting to confirm this was still a sweatshop and about that creepy address Google had given me.
Besides, in my role-playing for this phone call i figured if i had to ask for a price i could'nt afford the rents.

the site i pulled the SB Main's info from : [link to www.laloftrental.com]

You would be surprised how swanky these converted buildings are!
however, the neighborhood itself is one constant waltz with the devil.

where did you get that? link?

if legit,
i would suppose, if being 2 weeks in a watertank, you´ll get much bigger than you were before by all the water.

and they needed her "in one piece" for autopsie and stuff.
really, no one would try to get a weeks old dead body out by pulling it through a small hole.

There are a cluster of four water tanks on the roof of the hotel, but it’s not easy to gain access to them. There is an alarm and a locked door to gain access to the roof.
“It’s not clear how she would have gained access to the roof by herself. Had she done so, the tanks themselves are not locked,” reporter Tom Walters told CTV’s Canada AM Wednesday.
It’s a tight spot between the water tanks and it took many hours to remove the body, said Capt. Jaime Moore of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Firefighters used their specialized tools to be able to cut the sides of the tank, remove the metal so they could carefully remove the body so the coroner’s office can continue its investigation,” Moore said.

Lopez said the hotel has four cisterns on its roof that are each about 10 feet tall, 4.5 feet wide and hold at least 1,000 gallons of water.

Lam's body was found Tuesday morning at the bottom of one cistern that was about three-quarters full of water, Lopez said.

The opening at the top of the cistern is too small to accommodate firefighters and equipment, so they had to cut a hole in the storage tank to recover Lam's body.

The cisterns are on a platform at least 10 feet above the roof.

To get to the tanks, someone would have to go to the top floor then take a staircase with a locked door and emergency alarm preventing roof access.

Another ladder would have to be taken to the platform and a person would have to climb the side of the tank.

i meant wrong for "you need to take the locked alarmed security door to get up there" (proven wrong already by enough youtube vids) for guests/visitors/killers.

for heavy equipment and stuff, of course, you take the staircase and the door, not the fire ladder ;)

Considering the history of the building and the recent events, they may want to prevent further tragedies by not publicizing the fact that the roof can be accessed via the fire escapes.

i meant wrong for "you need to take the locked alarmed security door to get up there" (proven wrong already by enough youtube vids) for guests/visitors/killers.

for heavy equipment and stuff, of course, you take the staircase and the door, not the fire ladder ;)

wow I didn't know that it was that easy to access the roof some therefore anyone could have taken her up there or she could of just wondered up there herself has it been said if the lid to the tank was locked or not

Re: New Update what Media is not telling us ! - Elisa Lam case - please, take a look at this! i feel this should not be ignored. thank you.
Considering the history of the building and the recent events, they may want to prevent further tragedies by not publicizing the fact that the roof can be accessed via the fire escapes.

of course, that might be the reason.
but maybe they should edit the pictures from the roof made from helicopters as well, as one can clearly see the red ladder on the right ;)

... wrong. see the pictures of the building, there is a red fire ladder what leads up there as well.

i wonder why they do give us wrong information?

There might have been equipment brought to the scene for the body's removal that's not ordinarily there ....

I don't think it's that easy that you can just wander up there. If you look at pictures of the Cecil Hotel it clearly does not have fire escapes everywhere leading to the rooftop. Those available would be via fire exit doors which trigger an alarm upon opening.
