This video is much more thrilling than any other thriller movies I have ever watched. After watching it, my friends and I cannot get a good sleep. Sometimes we have to wait until day to take a bath or drink water...I guess the main reason being that the video, and the case, are not solved. Humans have the desire to know-no matter it is murder, suicide, or even ghost-we just want to know. The most scary thing is not that a ghost is standing right behind us, but that we just do not know what is there.

I wonder why, when he hits the buttons below, did the button of level 14 go off?

I believe he is on the 14th floor, so the button for the 14th floor does not remain illuminated.

Question though, why is the 10th floor button area so distressed and why does it illuminate in red while the others illuminate in green?

What is the deal with all of these Chinese website videos? I can't listen right now, assuming there is sound, is there commentary? Does he say anything interesting? Was that wooden ladder there before she was killed, did the police put it there?

My take on this: she was on some type of drug/alcohol or even worse, a combo of the two, and was tripping. She looks like someone that is messed up and can't see very well.

My gut intuition at this point is that it was an accident. Think she was tripping, went exploring, went on the roof, went on the tank, opened the door, looked in and then fell in and couldn't get out, or got in to explore and couldn't get out. You have to admit, that is a creepy way of dying, more so than an invisibility cloaked hermit stalking you.

mh.. just a thought, a weird one on a weird case:

what if..

a. & a. taylor are responsible for EL being dead,
but the younger a. made it as symbolic as possible,
what if this was "on purpose" (maybe they got paid?), to make all other conspiracy-interested people more ridiculous - and look dangerous for the "normal" people out there ?

The latch to the door on top of the tank was closed shut. So unless a drunken/drugged lady can manage to throw herself in there, hang onto the edge of the water tank, then proceed to close the latch all whilst being drugged out. It's pretty safe to say at least Elisa Lam did not throw herself into the water tank.

While I love theorizing just as much as the next person, I think before throwing people's names around it would be nice if people did some research and had some solid proof of involvement. The old man may have a record the son does not seem to, so why are you dragging the poor guys name through the mud? There are tons of other sexual offenders within a one mile radius and also living at the Cecil to choose from that would make better suspects. You guys see some old man born in 1945 on tv and run with that?? Really folks it's terrible to put someone's name out there as suspected of involvement in something like this. What you put out on the Internet is pretty much there forever. Have some scruples. I'm sure you wouldn't like to forever see your names plastered all overthe Internet as a potential suspect.

The videos were uploaded by curious people who went there to explore. But up until now I don't think they have any breakthroughs. Their only finding is that the HOLD button is working, being the reason that the door did not close...During their exploration, they said that the 14th floor is stinky, and there is a bad smell from the toilet. (I wonder if the whole floor was used for hiding corpse.)

I am not sure if the girl in the video was EL. If it was, I agree that she was likely to have drowned herself. People on drugs go to strange places. And I don't believe that there is no door open to the roof or that there is no ladder to climb up to the water tank. As I mentioned earlier, hotels usually check their roof at least once a day. It is possible that someone just left the door open. And we can see there is a ladder outside which leads to the roof. (intentionally ignored by news) What's more, there must be a ladder for engineers to climb up the water tank for a routine check. I believe that the news is telling lies about this just trying to cover up for the hotel.

I found a new video about this. A guy went to explore the structure.

There are six doors to the roof in total. Three fire escapes lead to the roof. These are ladders. But if the murderer carries the body with him, it is very difficult, time-consuming, and can be easily discovered. Two other doors are for employees only. There is another red door, but the guy cannot find it inside the building.

The guy finds that the body can also be easily dropped into the water tank from the top of the white house beside the water tank, even easier than climbing up the ladder to the water tank.

There are two corners on the left and right handside of the elevator. They are blind points. If someone hides there, he can not be easily discovered. This suddenly strikes me because it seems like the reason the girl in the video jumped outside of the elevator just to make a noise. Maybe she could hear someone but she could not see them.

I was wondering why her limbs were twisted, according to the news. Now I heard (not verified) that she had fractures in all her limbs. Don't know if this is true...

We already know all of it on 7-11th page, there is a building plans. And a loft building with ledder shown in all news. WTF wrong with this guy? Investigation is contraindicated for him. First he filmed elevator, and not filmed surveillence camera. Now he filmed roof, but not filmed roof door locks, alarm , keymarks, so on. The only thing left important in that case.

The police said that the elevator video is the only video footage they have of her. Strange??? There are supposedly only cameras in the elevators of the hotel, none in the lobby. So was this the only time she used the elevator in the hotel?? She MUST have used it multiple times, no tape of that? Do they record over this stuff every 24 hours?

Impossible, if you look at the reflection on the elevator, someone clearly walks up on her left. They obviously know to stay out of the camera's view too.

Did anyone find out where Oriental Queen came from? The first half is frightening and kind of amazing in my opinion.

I like to contribute, some might be repeats, but some might not. I've read through quite a lot of stuff here and I think a lot of people are just overthinking to the point it has actually become quite ridiculous. Follow along the line of Okham's Razor, often the most simplest answer is the right one.

1) I fail to see why so many posts are wondering why she was placed in the hardest to reach tank. Many photos shown the firefighters easily getting to that tank by climbing DOWN from the building next to it, which has an easy red ladder on the other side. So you don't even need to attach or chain any ladder directly to the tanks. In fact, you don't even need to work yourself to the platform which the tanks are on.

2) Concerning why she went to LA. It bothers me how the news kept saying nobody seems to know why she's was in LA, I would expect her parents, siblings, and friends to know and had told the police. But I have read enough of her posts from tumblr, twitter, and her old blog to construct the answer. She suffers from bipolar disorder for at least the past 3 years. During this time she was bedridden by manic depression and cannot do anything except talking to people online. Her blog suggested she felt "wasted time" as most people in her condition felt. Finally she got on meds and called that past life "what she was." This is where she switched from her old blog to tumbler.

After she got on meds, she got a part time job. She was planning to go back to school in Sept, but until such time she wanted to "make up" for those lost years by traveling. Prior to the California trip, she was planning to goto Singapore, but failed and ended up traveling all over Canada, from Toronto to Montreal, etc... Her trip to LA was part of that journey to "have a life" that she didn't before and making up for it.

3) Her personality. Prior to the meds, she was a bipolar. Though deeply sad and crippled by it, she was a deep person and a cautious person, able to read others. Sadly, after the meds she became more cheerful, but naive. Able to leave the house, her blogs shown she frequent clubbing, parties, etc.. And her trips, she wrote about all the people she met from different countries, extremely friendly... if not too friendly, too trusting. She had made notes for hookups with people she met on tumbler and twitter at each visiting location. (Bad idea, meeting strangers online in real life is ALWAYS a bad idea).

4) Autopsy. The police cannot release too much information on the autopsy until it is complete. Why? Because they need enough evidence in order to move in on any "person of interest." At too early, the perp can run. But we know that there were absolutely no physical signs of trauma, meaning her last moments were not violent. Her death is an internal one. It is very very likely she was given some sort of drug, from the vid of the elevator it seems to be estacy (my guess). Now say as you will about the dangers of taking drugs, but her blog gave clear details of what meds she was taking for bipolar... and she was taking at least 5 different kinds and heavy prescription. Combination of these meds with additional narcotics can be quite fatal.

5) Body in the tank. It is very unlikely her body was thrown in on the 31st. The police dogs would've sensed something. It is much more likely she was with someone that night, somehow drug was involved (whether she voluntarily took them or was slipped them). She was dead and the person who was there panicked, hid the body for a while and then finally dumped her body into the tank later after the police stopped the search. Now, she was fully naked in the tank. Had she been raped, a rapist would put her clothes back on b4 throwing her into the tank to frame a suicide. Being completely naked suggest the "opposite." This person who put her in there knew about the creeps and sex offenders in the hotel. Throwing her naked in there is to throw off the police into thinking she was sexually assaulted by one of them.

Now all this talk about illuminati, psychop, invisible things... ghosts... seriously? don't let your imagination get too much of you.

When all things are weighted equal, the most simplest answer is usually the correct answer.

I want to answer a few more questions that I saw posted here which I just cannot understand how some of you can be so wacked and clueless.

1) Police are hiding something - OF COURSE they are. If there is foul play, someone of interest, they need to remain cautious on how to approach. You don't even need to know much about the law enforcement to know this, just watch enough police drama. Police cannot simply go up to someone and accuse them and arrest them, they need a certain amount of evidence. Their job is NOT to entertain you, but to capture any perps in this case.

2) The Mexicans and Italians - This is not talking about any mafia. This is completely taken out of context from her tumbler. First of all, she did not arrive at LA until Jan 29th, according to her blog. (yes, police is wrong). The post about the mexican/italian (as well as Speakeasy - which was a club she went to in San Diego and lost a cellphone.) was when she was in SAN DIEGO. She was not identifying any stalkers or specific people. She said "I'm going out tonight, hopefully there won't be any creepers." Then she went on to describe Italians/Mexicans in "general" as "those guys come on strong, give them any indication and they're honing in to you"

3) Rooftop access. I thought it would be clear by this point, the door is NOT the only way up there. Several fire escape ladders can reach the top. The mulitple graffi and bear bottles littered on the roof top suggests it is very easily accessible, and has been assessed by people before.

4) Elevator - most of you don't seem to have any experience in body language psychology. there are many other posts by experts on the area to tell you her movement were fluidic, relaxed. she was not showing any sign of fear. there were signs of anxiety, but it was more like anticipation of something rather than fear of it. It was very likely she was hooking up with someone at the hotel.
