I'm joining the Navy - wish me luck, bad idea, or best idea?

From opposing the illuminati, revealing sinister agendas, preaching love and light and meditation, online - right into joining the military. And everyone bids him good bye with best wishes and hearts.

Anyone who chooses to serve and enable this so-called "government", while this so-called "government" wages war on the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the American people is a traitor to the the united states of America.

Oh yes, being a Roman soldier had it's benefits too I'm sure. I will just say, your life may be better for it but that comes with a steep price. Your selling your soul to Babylon and any success you enjoy will be at the suffering of the empire's many enemies... or do you believe they are all the "bad guys"?

Is that how you think? Trust me, i served, and that has nothing to do with it...we live, mature and learn what is actually happening as we get older.

Dont listen to these guys bad mouthing military, ALL ORGINIZATIONS HAVE BAD PEOPLE, but that doesnt speak for everyone in the group!

Oh I've seen the movies. You run run run to your assigned position, and wait.... You look to the skies, instead of at the sea that you operate over. You follow orders without question, because you are a slave to careerist officers. You are not important, really, as your presence has little to do with the operation and safety of the ship.

I served, like many, many others. I am proud of it, and look back upon those days fondly. In the grand scheme of thing military, I was nothing. But I'm still glad I did it.

You don't have to like the military. That's a freedom you still have because of the people who protect you, whether you want or like that protection.

Do I agree with all of US foreign policy decisions, especially as of late? That would be a resounding 'NO!' Do I think the human race is prone to repeat its mistakes? Yes! But part of being a professional soldier means doing your job, even if you don't like it. Contrary to your opinion, soldiers can and do think I even went as far to take an article 15 when I wouldn't follow what I viewed to be an illegal order. So, the basic thrust of what I'm saying is this: if one has morals and adheres to said morals, NO ONE can take them away, as long as you're willing to pay the price that comes with standing for what you believe in.

As for the OP, I'm not sure whether he's signed up or not. I gave OP an honest opinion, and I'm sure he or she is intelligent enough to make that decision. I'm not trying to talk OP into doing anything or not doing anything. I shouldn't have to - the military doesn't need people who can't make decisions for themselves. I simply related a bit of information as to what to expect from the military lifestyle, and advised them to remain focused on the '50 meter target.' End of story.

Nope, my experience was pretty typical! Why do you think they have such a retention problem? Why do you think they offered me a $30,000 reenlistment bonus? I told them to shove it. LMFAO you clueless clown.

And what's inaccurate about the movies I've seen? Classics. I esp like bogart's The Cain Mutiny. I enjoy all stories of men at sea. There is a commonality, a comradeship, even though the Navy is bastardization of the experience...

Good idea, 1 of my son's is in right now, they even pay his rent!

OP,.. you ask our opinion,.. but WHY are YOU joining?

Knowing that will lend to better advice giving,.. otherwise everyone is just bumping their gums.

Remove the workings of the NAVY and you will see some problems arise...i dont agree with everything they do, but it is a force that has to exist, not only for making young men mature, but giving some guidance to those that have nothing to look forward to

Sure, as there are certainly quiet decent human beings in the childsex traffic business. After all, it's just a job for the money.

But that doesn't change what the organisation does, what it stands for, and what it was created for. And most importantly, from where it sucks the money out of the system.

Without the guidance of the Navy and parents, i probably wouldnt be where i am today...a great paying honest job, with a trade i learned there, a beautiful wife and a great home within a community of awesome people. Not to mention im almost 40.

Stay in...get a pension. Everyone I know who got out said, "I should have stayed in!" If you have a chance to serve as an officer...DO IT! The navy have the best uniforms by the way!

No doubt you came out unfaized. Good for you. Not what I hear for alot of them, though. Civilian workforce is the way to go. More dangerous, but you learn to love the sea for what it is.

I would hope so,,, getting yourself dirty is SOP on a boat. Unless the Navy has perfected its operation... lol

Civilian workforce is nice, but you dont have that brotherhood of support if anything happens. Once you plant your feet and become steady you can go your own way, thats tough to do in civilian workforce.

If the OP is a chick, then get out by any means necessary - fake sickness, get pregnant, cut off your leg, or whatever. Chicks are ruined by military service, and never recover to be decent babes again.

If you're a dude, what's in it for you? Do you get laid? The money sucks balls, so that's not a reason. Perhaps you can make contacts, or go to some country that you can establish a home in, or find a girl. Otherwise, think long and hard - military will change you, and not always the way you wish. There's the thing about being property of the US, rather than your own man. And the shots - who knows what the fuck they will do to you. The DOD has not yet settled, or even agreed with the Agent Orange damage from back in the 1970's.
