I went to the most expensive place in my nearest city. I do have some star-burst effect when looking at streetlights and all but plenty good to drive. Sometimes the full moon has the star-burst effect too when I look directly at it but for normal. Usually I can focus it out. It has little to no effect on my general nightvision. When there is problems who will be having bright lights around anyway. My nearsightednes was terrible so in comparison. I recommend you do it if you can. Just don't get it done cheap! Hope this helps you! Peace Ernest saves Iran -coming soon |

| BoxerLvr User ID: 885750 02/23/2013 10:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had it done about 2 years ago at LasikPlus Vision Center. Best decision I've ever made. My night vision is fine. I was worried about that because I have a telescope and like to view the night sky. Immediately after the procedure, my vision was cloudy, but by the time I got home it had cleared up and I could see great! The only 'problem' I have is dry eyes, so I occasionally have to use eye drops. ps. Don't let the burning smell scare you. They forgot to mention that part to me....lol. After they cut the flap they burn away (reshape) your cornea with the laser. Don't worry, you don't feel a thing. It is painless. They thus become part of the armies of the night, the purveyors of nitwittery, the retailers of intellectual junk food, the feeders on mental cardboard, for their ignorance keeps them from distinguishing nectar from sewage. — Isaac Asimov |

The more expensive and extensive version (the type done to CORRECT Lasik surgery gone bad) has a MUCH lower rate of problems (which is why it is used to CORRECT Lasik surgery gone bad) ... but it is 3x to 4x more expensive the last time I checked, and MOST centers do NOT have the machines that do this better level of work (check around as to who does CORRECTIVE surgery for Lasik gone bad ... and THAT is the person/clinic to talk to - usually there is ONE surgeon per mid size city who does that kind of HIGH LEVEL work, and ONLY ONE) I am thinking about the same thing, though I do wear extended wear contact lenses that do the same thing and have found that although they are 30 day lenses I can EASILY get 90 days out of a pair in a pinch if I clean them for the protein build up every 2 to 3 weeks or so. (which means a years supply could last 3 years) The night problem is a REAL problem. I know two airline pilots that HAD to retire early because of Lasik gone bad wrt the night vision issue ... plus about 3 other people who have the night vision problem after Lasik really bad. Good luck on your decision |
