I had stayed up all night previously, so I was a bit tired. While it was his turn in a game, I was kinda laying comfortably on my bed and started dozing off. One of those times where you can hear yourself quietly snoring and you KNOW you're "asleep." I then found myself observing him and I from above, just floating in the bedroom. It lasted about 30 seconds or so, and then I woke from the dozing. It was the strangest sequence of my life. |

I've had a few that were probably obes that I can think of, and I'm bored and not much being posted on this board anyway. Go. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34963435 I've had some, and they were blissful. If you've had one, you would know it. No "probably's" in this experience. Sounds like you were at least close, so you'll have one eventually, if you want one and aren't afraid. I encourage you to go for it. It's safe. |

Well I left my body and flew over the mountain where I was hiking past towns, citys the over the ocean till I reached these white cliffs by the ocean and flew into the forest . . . the moment I hit the forest on top of the cliffs is when I felt my face hitting the bushes and I woke up. The experience felt so real and lasted many minutes. MOBILIS IN MOBILI |

Feels like forever and a lifetime ago. I was sitting outside at our house (was his parents house-mom past away a few years before and dad 10 plus before that). We lived on a few acres with woods behind us. A regular road w/ some houses spread out w some land each. I was sitting outside right befoe dusk (still plenty of light) There were some fruit trees about 40 feet away in rows. I have never been so scared as I believe I seen them move... Literally they looked like the grew tree legs and were moving right towards me. I froze and then turned for the back door. It was like a frigin horror movie. I couldn't open the door. It was locked. (Which it wasn't) I didn't look it and my husband was inside. I started pounding on the door terrified. My husband opened the door and was like what is my problem. I ran in locked the door and tryed to tell him what happenned. He started laughing at me(which I don't blame him} We have talked about it since and I believe there was some door or window in reality left open alternate reality or I am just crazy. By the way I never told anyone except my dad many moons ago. He's gone know but he listened and chuckled but never would tell me he thought I was nuts. Who knows what I saw. I still don't know. |

I say probably because one I had I was floating in a room in my house, suddenly tripped and then I got that fast falling feeling (which I heard happens after obes) and I woke up. Seriously, I've gotten that feeling before, feels like you're riding on a roller coaster really fast downhill, not sure how a dream in your mind can induce that, though I'm not 100% sure it was an obe. Another time I tried to induce one, failed, gave up and fall asleep and felt like I was being ripped from my body, it scared me. Was also floating across my room and my comforter was floating with me, though when I woke up, I was laying on my bed with my comforter over me like it was before I fell asleep. One of those not sure but kind of odd experiences. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 35017254 02/24/2013 12:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I presume that my experience was out of body. When I was 13, my tonsils were removed. I was put under anesthesia, of course, and I had the sensation of going down, down, down in a dark elevator. Then I was looking down on my body in the operating room and saw the doctor and nurses removing my tonsils. I don't know how long the sensation lasted, but it made a lasting impression. I was scared to tell anyone about it! Defintely the effect of the anesthesia.. haven't ever experienced it since. Had an appendix removed several years after uneventfully. My husband says that, when he was 21, while suffering a severe case of flu, in a high fever, he had the sensation of floating about the room, looking down at his body. Presumably fever or anesthesia affects the brain in this bizarre way. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 28899888 02/24/2013 12:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, but I couldn't move anywhere, I just sat up and look towards my bedroom door. Tried my hardest to move, but couldn't, then noticed that what I was doing was impossible. Freaked me out, woke up or whatever you would call it, and the entire left side of my body was paralyzed. Freaked out again, blacked out, then woke up like 5 hours later. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 34107807 02/24/2013 12:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Probably not the "out of body" story you're looking for, but, since you're bored, I'll post this....a friend of mine was in a car accident and was ejected from the car. Her head hit a tree at 80mph. She was still alive, was helicoptered to the trauma center. Had major blood clots in her brain and died a bunch of times. In a coma for 3 months, broken neck, the works. Long story short....she had NO memory of her life previous to the accident. Everything was completely gone. When she was able to talk, she described flying above sky scrapers, in a city, going very very fast. We live in the country, rural area, so this "sky scraper" thing is kinda weird. Anyway, even though she had no memory of her family or anything else, she did describe 2 people she met while dead...when she was shown pictures, the 2 people turned out to be her brother, who died when he was 6, and her grandmother. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 11249205 02/24/2013 12:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think I had one. It was just the strangest thing sometimes when I laid on my back in bed at night I went into some sort of sleep state I don't know what it was. It scared me though. Well this one night I got up out of bed and was very shaky actually acting like a child who is just beginning to walk and Use their muscles. I went into the kitchen and poured a glass of milk and then I went back to bed. In my OBE I had spilled the milk all over the counter so when I woke up the next morning I fully expected to see that milk Spilled on the counter because it was so real I knew that I had done it. It was one of those things that You just never forget totally believed it was real so I know it was more than just a dream. Go ahead laugh I know it sounds stupid but it happened 30 years ago and I'll never forget it! |
