A miserable woman who resents mothering, because she'd rather be partying and looking "hot", may negatively impact her kids with her behavior towards them. It really seems like anything that destroys the family unit is glorified on TV. This is an oubliette. The labyrinth is full of 'em. |

It really seems like anything that destroys the family unit is glorified on TV. It doesn't mean because it's on t.v., they glorify it. Do you think Breaking Bad was glorifying cooking meth? Or SOA being in a biker gang? It's art. It's hard to call what's on t.v. art but, a lot of series make you think. Mind you, I don't watch t.v. but I have to admit that there's a couple good series out there, like Utopia for example. |

I'm talking more about the subliminal imagery going along with the segment I described. There was nothing desirsble about the life of the frumpy housewife. She was dirty looking, tired, lived in a dirty house, and sobbed uncontrollably in front of her child. After the transformation, she was laughing, people were showering her with attention, and she was enjoying life. This is an oubliette. The labyrinth is full of 'em. |
| SnowLeopard User ID: 34971183 02/24/2013 12:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's a newer programming line up called NickMom, and it plays at night on Nick Jr. I'm trying to make sense of what I just saw... Quoting: Oubliette There's a depressed, frumpy looking woman who is being offered shaved legs and spanx (underwear that makes you look thinner). It plays out like green eggs and ham. Well, the lady is a miserable mother who has a messy house and breaks down crying, while refusing the shaved legs and spanx. When she finally gives in, she goes out partying, and then walking down a runway in her spanx underwear. Ummmm, what the hell is that? Turn off the TV |

I am certain that viewers like you have the discernment and maturity to see this for what it is, but I wonder how many 'Casey Anthonys' are out there, allowing themselves to be manipulated like this. These people have no shame, and they will stop at nothing to destroy the most precious commodity we have, and that is faith in our families and in God.
