Serious question for Christians about hell
If God has everlasting love, why does he stop giving chances one a person dies? Why not just send them to hell for a week or a month, and then give them another chance to repent?

Re: Serious question for Christians about hell
You don't die when you're body dies and returns to dust that it grew from. You as yourself return to the Father that gave you life.

Ecclesiastes 12:6-8

King James Version (KJV)

6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

The Mystery of God is still a mystery to most yet the answers are in His little book..

Would a just and right Creator hold you in limbo to await His great white thrown of judgment just to destroy you later, or would He send you to a place like this to learn a thing or to so you might make a better choice?

He is Love, and He wants all His children to come home. This is why we are here.

Deuteronomy 32

King James Version (KJV)

32 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

3 Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

I asked this question to a Christian co-worker last week. He'd said he didn't know the answer and would get back to me... well he never did. I thought I'd ask the question here since there's so many Christians users here. Seems like no one wants to touch this one.

Life is full of choices. There is nothing to say you will have any choices after death. You are judged on how you lived your life here on this Earth. I know it is hard to understand but there is nothing to be worried about if you do right by your fellow man. If you truly seek answers start by reading the Bible and trying to understand the words that were written. Does this help you at all?

How do you know he doesn't?
Everyone who does not accept JESUS, gets a chance.

Revelation 20:11-15

New International Version (NIV)
The Judgment of the Dead

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

OK, this is my opinion about it, I can't be sure 100% either but here is what I think:

eternal hell doesn't make sense to me either, I am a Christian and I try my best to follow God's laws.

Everyone on earth is a product of their environment, BUT we all have every day choices to make.

A satanic elite banker has choices, and a Christian mother of 2 has choices. The choices are pretty much the same: Do you make the good, just, and correct decision that God wants you to make for Him instead of yourself, or do you make the easy, lazy, quick fix, etc, decision?

This sort of thing is easy to understand, and if you do not give your heart to God and His love, you will be sentenced to hell on the day of Judgement.

NOW, about hell, THIS IS MY OPINION, I DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS TRUE OR NOT because I am not God, the Bible says the following about hell:
[link to www.google.com (secure)]

I believe that hell lasts for as long as you sinned, the pain that you inflicted on others, yourself, and the world, because of your sins, is lived out through hell. Jesus died on the cross so that we can trade our record with His perfect one, that is why you must ask Jesus into your heart so that He can erase the bad things, and help you to do good. BUT PLEASE, do not think that asking Jesus into your heart will automatically get you into heaven, you have to CONSTANTLY do it, we wake up a sinner every day, so we have to always keep trying to live more and more how God wants us to. Every person is constantly focusing on sin instead of God, and God understands this fully, which is why He sent Jesus Christ.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

hf Read the Bible, listen to God, and He will answer your questions. He has led me to the truth, and He will do the same for you or anyone else who wants it! :D

Not really...the bible is pretty clear that people can think and feel while in hell. Like the rich man that was in hell and asked God to send Lazarus to touch his lips with a wet cloth. Why couldn't God give him another chance to repent? It makes no sense whatsoever...

.

A Dante type "hell" is a pagan idea. It is not Biblical.

In the Bible, hell = grave = death.

The ONLY way to eternal life is via the resurrection of the body.

Few can understand......I lost my mind looking into the true nature of the universe.....or maybe I found true reality? You can find god you know......you will have to sacrifice whatever "reality" you are currently perceiving. What you are perceiving is not reality. If you want to find god.....open your third eye.....it is the penal gland the seat of your soul. Google can be used for things other then finding websites.....Christianity is a lie, Islam is a lie, judism is a lie. Welcome to your journey

So according to your logic, why have any hell at all? If someone does wrong on earth, we don't torture them for a short time and then kill them. If our government openly did that, I bet you would be opposed to it. Why wouldn't God just end their life quickly and painlessly. Discipline is worthless if there's no chance for redemption.

Hell is the 2nd death or lake of fire which is total destruction as "up in smoke". No one goes there now, in fact no one who has ever been born of water by way of woman into this world has gone there yet. That lake is only opened up for those who passed through this world as man or woman after the great white judgement. And that only occurs after the millennium.

All who die in the flesh go back to the Father and are held in paradise on one side of the gulf or the other. See the parable of Lazarus and the rich man in Luke chapter 16. They are waiting there for the times of the gentiles to be fulfilled after satans little revival and then the return of Christ to this world.

The following is written of what priests will do during the millennium which will happen for 1000 years before final judgement. Note they are teaching people who are unclean and can not discern between holy and profane.

Ezekiel 44

23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

The lake of fire is only opened up for those that refuse to accept Truth after being shown. God is Love and He is fair, but He also uses tough love as is sometimes needed for stubborn children.

Everyone will get their fair chance to make a choice. That said, I feel the coming years are in no way going to be enjoyable without the blessings of God.

You have a righteous case of amnesia put on you and are much older than you realize. Doesn't sound mainstream christian does it.. It is all written in the little book. Again, the Mystery of God. It is called a mystery for a reason.

God's Word as written cover to cover touches it completely, but Christ spoke in parables for a reason.

I handed you a big seed here this evening as you asked a tough question that many don't fully understand the answer to.

It is up to you now to plough into Gods Word to see if what I shared is rubbish or not. If you break up the ground a little around it our Father may just water that seed with a little of the latter day rain.

Blessings.

Re: Serious question for Christians about hell
First of all when we die we don't go anywhere, the Bible says death is a sleep until the resurrection of life ( for the saved) or the resurrection of damnation (for the lost). Secondly, if you don't want God in this life with the chances you're given then more than likely another chance isn't going to change your mind. God doesn't force us to love him or serve him. Additionally, if you enjoy a sinful lifestyle you wouldn't enjoy heaven, so even in hell when God destroys the wicked and banishes them from existence, it's still love because God knows the person who lives sin would be miserable in a pure and sinless place like heaven.

Re: Serious question for Christians about hell
Noone alive today has spoke to god, nor understand his plan. If they did they would be famous being belief and/or a religious icon. We are going on writings that date back 2k years or more. Remember drugs were big in the time of the old and new testaments. Plus they did not understand its effects on the brain and its harmful addictive effects. To them it put them intune with god. I would say 95% of the bible was wrote by people high on hallucinogenic drugs. Also in the old testament alot of the information was passed down orally before it was wrote down. How much of that was changed? Who knows but probably alot. I am a believer in God, but not the bibles or what people tell me about God and what God means. Its easy to know god though, just find peace with your life whatever it maybe. Hard times are just part of the journey we make and the relationships we create. War, suffering, murder, and violence are the easy way out of our journy. For some that will be the path, but the vast majority of humans, animals, and all life will continue the hard journey of life and be thankful for the chance and the relationships we share. Now theres something the bible would never utter.
