Tomorrow morning my child's 10th grade History teacher is either going to be suspended without pay for a month or fired for something he did in her class every day last week.

When I found out about it, I refrained from taking action, because it was a one-time thing. I thought that when my wife, who is a teacher at the school, said she would talk to the History Dept head that something would happen. But each day, the teacher kept on with his behavior. Finally, on Thursday, he did it again. When I found out I wrote to my County Supervisor and the Principal and demanded action in two days or CNN would be in the picture.

Friday it sleeted, so there was no school. I had written that I would be at the school in the morning to have the Resource Officer (Deputy Sheriff, also a friend) escort the teacher off the premises, and that "an astounding legal hammer" was about to fall on the county and the school board if action wasn't taken.

Got an email Friday telling me that the principal and the Superintendent of Schools would be meeting @ 7 a.m. tomorrow and that the matter would be sorted out.

If you as the parent don't engage, it makes it very difficult for anything to happen.
