Your thoughts on superdeterminism
What are your thoughts on superdeterminism? Superdeterminism is the idea that there is no choice. Coupled with spirituality, perhaps the idea that we are all like robots living in align with divine will (or not, but still part of plan) that just experience along the way what predetermined brain chemicals are creating. If who you are is consciousness, then the you that is is not the being making choices, there is no choice, only illusion of choice, because the time we have to do "different things" are all wrapped up in a universe working like a giant clock. There is no blame or shame with this idea. We're all parrots or robots. Smart stuff don't you think. Your thoughts.

Re: Your thoughts on superdeterminism
But there is illusion of choice. So we still have to live thinking about making choices, its just that with all the time we spend doing it, time is only another factor that exists.

Re: Your thoughts on superdeterminism
The weird thing about this is if you believe you do have free choice, you are not wrong necessarily. That is your belief, and so, its just language you have affirmed it. IT really just comes down to a matter of interest; if talking about superdeterminism interests you, do it; truth can not always be put into language because everything that one believes or writes is true to them.

Re: Your thoughts on superdeterminism
I am always surprised more people aren't very interested in this. When we talk about our ability to make choices, that opens up our abilities to be fulfilled in every moment and do things of interest that captivate us. Its good to live with only the emotion of joy. It is said that small minds tlak about people. Great minds talk about ideas. Perhaps in the same way, small minds obsess over people and who says what, while great minds see all things as coming from the mind of God and interact as God.

the idea to post this thread was determined, imo.
what is the source of this inspiration. the expression: "it came to my mind" seems legit.

If you're unhapy though, you still have the choice to become happy, by finding something engaging. When we are always satisfied, that might be when we feel like someone else is doing it along the way.

I'm bored. I wanna talk to my wife. Grazi Glp.

Hi germany AC. I was bored. Seems not alot of people into it. If you find out you have no choice, that doesn't mean you should just sit there, there should always be something to do. That's why I create threads sometimes perhaps partially as an excuse to excuse my lack of developing a proper more satisfying lifestyle. Perhaps more info than you wanted but...it sure would be nice to have some new literature on something relating to this...

Re: Your thoughts on superdeterminism
your right though axo, i agree with superdeterminsim ONLY if you have a group of beings who decide that they're not going to do anything to harm anyone or anything evil. otherwise, do what thou wilt doesn't work

Re: Your thoughts on superdeterminism
I believe trust in Christ for my salvation so I believe that we do have free choice before the point of salvation otherwise there would be no sin. What I get confused about are Calvinists who claim there is no free choice really, its all God's determination regardless of whether you have salvation or not.

For me, once you are reborn of the Holy Spirit through God's Word, you are then pre-destined to eternity with God (from the foundation of the world) but if you remain under your sin, its your choice and you are free to choose that end. Its as if you are re-created, and guess what, that is what the Bible tells us.

Re: Your thoughts on superdeterminism
Do you think the human body has bones?

"Food when drunk is changed into three qualities— the grossest becomes excrement; the finest mind; whatever is midway, flesh.

"Water when drunk is changed into three qualities— the grossest becomes urine ; the finest becomes life; whatever is midway, blood.

"Light when we eat it in fat or oil, is changed into three qualities—the grossest becomes bone ; the finest speech; whatever is midway, marrow.

"Remember, my son! mind comes from food, life comes from water, speech comes from light."

"Oh, the entertainment they do to you, turned you into a veritable world stool..."
