When I went to Cairo (filthy dirty place) & Kenya (just as bad in some places)I went on my own & didn't cover my hair & wore short sleeved shirts & 3/4 pants. I didn't have a problem in that area at all. The only real problem I encountered was the rudeness of people in Cairo (especially the women), the sleaziness of the men in Cairo(I even got a phone call from my taxi driver who already had a wife & mistress asking me when I would be back in Cairo as he wanted to see me again WTF!!!!)& the constant trying to extort me of money (just because you are Western you are automatically rich in their eyes) in both places. The ONLY reason I would EVER suggest anyone go to Egypt is to see the Pyramids because they are absolutely,breathtakingly (literally)AMAZING!!!! All in all Kenya wasn't too bad compared to Cairo :)
