All it takes is a dollop of store bought whole fat plain yogurt, whole milk and an oven that is turned off overnight. Quoting: nah you made yoghurt from milk, using other yoghurt as a culture starter. great. good for you. assuming the milk wasn't raw but pasteurized, you either had real yoghurt to start with (otherwise, no bacterial culture would start), which you fucked up with sterile milk. or you had a completely lifeless concoction of sterile milk and sterile yoghurt. but i might be mistaken. |

Quoting: nah This reminds me of where we were invited over to a friend's house for dinner. All that we had to do was bring a dessert. So that afternoon, actually, about an hour before we were supposed to be there, I threw together some Jello-Brand cherry cheesecake and put it in the fridge to jell and cool. Then when we went over to the friend's house, my wife chimed in that we made a "Home-made" dessert. I answered, in all honesty, with tongue planted firmly in my cheek, that Yes, it truly was made at home. But then our friend, after sampling a bite, asked for the recipe. It was then that I had to answer a little more honestly that it was with the help of the Jello company. |

Quoting: YOUCITY 18850702 You'll thank me later , and no I don't have anything to do with the company. I buy it by the case when it goes on sale but they don't carry it at a lot of stores. There used to be another company that made a six grain pear flavor that was almost as good but for some reason they stopped and came back after 6 months and then stopped again. This brand also stopped for about 6-8 months , man was I happy last week when I saw them back on the shelves! I think that's the same brand I can get at Trader Joes they have a maple one too with a cream top... awesome I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is. -Albert Camus My new books with some art and photography being original works, enjoy... Also, unless you make your cream cheese from scratch, it's always going to be store bought. Most people don't mill their own flour either so is a cake made from scratch homemade or store bought? Quoting: nah Also, unless you make your cream cheese from scratch, it's always going to be store bought. Most people don't mill their own flour either so is a cake made from scratch homemade or store bought? Good point. My feeling? If you make a cake using store-bought flour, it's home-made. If you make a cake from a box-mix and just add water, well thats a gray area. I can attest that I've made many a box-mix cake, but spent well over an hour putting the store-bought frosting on the cake and making it special for my family and friends. So I put my time and love into making it, even though it was a box-mix and tubes (and or cans) of frosting. I have used food coloring to make my own frosting colors - does that help? hee hee. Thanks for steering my tongue-in-cheek honesty in the right direction. |
