An Attitude of Gratitude

Oh so do I. Only focus on the best in others.

I am extremely grateful for my health.

And my kids are healthy - all that really matters ;)

What you put out, is what you get back... literally. The World you see around you mirrors the thoughts you have, the emotions these thoughts create, and then the actions you take to further put movement into the idea. This is "literally" how your personal view of reality is formed, and of the shared reality on Earth at this moment. We have 100% responsibility for our own lives, and I am so Grateful to have this knowledge.

I am Grateful that I can recognize that while ALL people are the same, we can have very different communication styles, and that recognizing a person's unique style of communication makes a huge difference in the connection you can make with them. I have one friend who can expand a simple story into a half-hour long tale, while another finds 3 sentences too long! Everyone processes information from the world around them in a different way... if you are having trouble getting along with someone, perhaps you are not "speaking" to them, as they are best designed to "listen". I am Grateful that through trial and error over my life I have learned this, for it helps me immensely in my daily life.

I am Grateful that I am very aware of the power of the subconscious mind, and how it is impacted by the barrage of media and advertising we are subjected to each day. We really do absorb the things we hear/read/see all around us each day, and so now I am much more careful about what music I listen to, what TV and movies I watch, and what things I read. I have more inner peace, tranquility and clarity of mind as a result.

You probably wouldn't be typing if you post without ego, as silence speaks the loudest if it comes to that. And what's wrong with having a ego? I'm of opinion that it isn't as bad as some say, it just gets problematic when the ego gets inflated and grows bigger than the soul, it's like being a soul with a huge mask while it only should cover the face. Makes it easier to take it off as well, otherwise you would need a big ass crane to haul it off.

In short I'm grateful to have an ego, it's given for a reason and it doesn't matter that it can be abused just like everything else.

I am Grateful that I could listen to someone today without judging them at the same time... I just listened, and I learned something about them in the process because I held my own ego back for a moment.

As the commenter above noted, having an ego is not a "bad" thing... you just have to understand yourself enough to know the difference between what you feel you "want", and what you feel you "need". It's this balance between meeting your needs, and exercising self-restraint (because the ego always wants more...), that I believe is one of the things that will lead you to a harmonious life.

I am Grateful that I can remind myself that when I speak with people, that I am attentive to what they are saying in every way, making them understand that they are valued and appreciated, in the most comfortable and friendly manner.

If you are having trouble communicating with others, I recommend telling yourself something like the above statement... after a while, it will be true, and you will see an improvement in all your relationships.
