When I was growing up, there was a church on the opposite corner of my home.

When I was back home about a month ago, someone converted it to a single family home.

Sad......I remember its bells waking me up every Sunday morning.

All of the churches are now in the downtown area & some have even changed hands from when I left there in 1989.

That is some real scary shit. I hope this history will never repeat itself. People need to learn from this history and avoid to become 'blind' follower mind control sheeple at all costs.

Science naively understood, for the most part. "Science" as a god, but look at how many of the real scientists, famous scientists, were religious or believed in a higher power.

The trick is that science explains some things but does not preclude religion. Newton's laws of physics leave plenty of room for divine action. Quantum physics almost screams that there's something that God might determine -- the gap left by the Uncertainty Principle. Einstein thought this gap was not random -- "God does not play dice with the universe."

How many great German men and women of science and mathematics have there been. The greatest. And they were mostly Catholic, but Einstein was Jewish, in any case they were religious.

Christians are proof that evolution doesn't happen to a group all at once. The ones ahead of them, can't relate to them and vice versa. This AGE we are entering will make them choose. You can stay in the old Age, but you will become obsolete, just like all religions will. Religions have committed the most viscious and heinous attrocities throughout history. It's funny how Christians fear Muslims, when Christianity still has more blood on its hands than any religion in history. If you can tell a tree by its fruit, the fruit of Christianity speaks volumes! People don't need religion. It serves no purpose. People are quite capable of being law abiding, good, kind people without it. Try it. You'd be surprised. I'm not here to bash you. You think I am. I am here to make you think and sometimes that takes strong words. I was once a Christian. After reading the Bible several times, really looking at the words...seeing the contradictions and listening to my inner voice, I decided it was made up lies, to keep people in line. That's the only purpose it serves. It didn't really take off until a Roman Emperor made it the state religion(Constantine), and it has so many Pagan overtones(including the sharing of holidays), it's an obvious forgery, if there ever was one.

It's true, we've been meddling like nobodys business, but if haddd to--absolutely had to pick one culture/faith/way of life that will never change even in the slightest, it's that one.

Imagine a world without superstitions, honor-killings, people being whipped/burned/flogged for imagined infractions against their favorite imaginary deities. A world where rich old men can't use their theological scriptures to form public opinions, and even use them to teach our children without our consent. A world where one tribe of bronze-age fanatics don't want to kill the other group of bronze-age fanatics.
Of course, many of these things don't necessarily apply to Christians in the western world, but as a whole religion has been proved to be a terrible experiment, an exercise in futility.

Like ALL religions, christianity will pass into history and either evolve into something else or vanish completely. That is the way it is. The Romans , the Greeks, the Babylonians, the Egyptians...all of them have 'lost' their gods.
