I watched Dark Water tonight, and I'll grant it was oddly similar, right down to the victim in the movie wearing red and black like Elisa Lam.

Let's say there is a "TPTB" - that mysterious body that everyone thinks rules the world instead of God and satan, which I would think would be enough to handle - but most people can't - or won't grasp. Why would "TPTB" want to play a cat and mouse game, or a super global Sherlock Holmes games with the general public? Why, if they existed, would they give a damn what any of you thought? They give us clues ahead of time? What for? Are they all sitting around in lounge coats drinking bourban and smoking cigars saying "hee hee, I think those folks on GLP are onto us? Perfect! They are solving our riddles!" The really evil people just do want they want openly or do it in complete secrecy. They don't make a game of it. I just don't understand the reasoning behind all of this.
