Trinity, can we make this official? I really think its important for the common good of all glpers to communicate post-Internet.

i thought about way to get in touch with groups of like minded people also when shtf

11 meters only works for long range comms during a brief time in the sunspot cycle

So what meter would you suggest?

CB's will be the only way of knowing if there's a road block up ahead. The idea is to hopefully get off at the next exit before the roadblock. And take secondary roads around it. Better have maps, compass and GPS.

I wouldn't go to that when SHTF, you are going to end up with a bunch of theories on what is really happening, with no proof to back it up, and end up more confused than when you started listening. ;)

40 and 20 in the day. And 40 and 80 at night.

20, 40, or 80. You'll need a ham General license to
do it legally on phone (voice); Tech won't do. You
can use CW (Continuous Wave, for Morse) on very limited
portions of 40 and 80m with a Tech. 20m requires General.

Don't even think about fucking around on the ham bands
without a license. You'll have a short career in radio
and a long stay in jail. The tests aren't that hard; you
can pass the General with a few weeks of evening study.

They're hard enough to keep morons off the air, and make
sure those on the air have sufficient knowledge to keep
things orderly and sane.
