He was apprenticed in Leyden under the Elzevir family. After returning to Venice he published small works on philosophical and esoteric themes. In 1666, Torchia published De Umbrarum Regni Novem Portis (The Nine Doors to the Kingdom of Shadows), which was in turn based on the Delomelanicon, or Invocation of Darkness, a work supposedly written by Lucifer and that would allow the reader to summon devils. The Inquisition condemned Torchia for magic and witchcraft and burned him at the stake in 1667. |

They're predicting 8+ mags in areas of the Nankei Trough region with as high as an 80% probability? Yes, also the scientists increased the area of the region that would be affected, and also bumped it up to a magnitude 9 earthquake possibility. We barely even felt the biggest one here let alone all of the aftershocks 2) its going berzerker because there are aftershocks 3) fuck usgs, always check JMA for Japanese earthquake information. They have an English website. Google it. 4) yes only a 5.8 but only 10km depth and a Shindo 5+ on the Japanese shindo scale. Google it. 5) JMA made a live statement on TV which interrupted regular broadcast talking about the earthquake and said that you should be careful for continual earthquakes, watch for falling items, and that there would be more shindo 4+ earthquakes in the coming week (they are just guessing) so take precaution 6) it is not an aftershock of the Tohoku disaster |

Quoting: Aristide Torchia [link to www.ustream.tv] Yeah man, except there is a 2 second delay on the video according to the people who chat there all the time. Anyway most cell phones are equipped with earthquake warning signals, and at least here in Tokyo, we have loud speakers that will sound off if there is an early detection, it plays the NHK chime (if you dont know, google it, its scarylol) and say "OOI JISHIN DESU. OOI JISHIN DESU." which means "Big earthquake" haha.. ahh.. I love Japan. I dont wanna die man. |
