The last time humanity was happy and in tune with people and the Earth was in the "Hunter-Gatherer" time.
Discuss-

When man moved to Ag/City set-up this caused stationary settlements which led to stratification of jobs, which led to those people who could manipulate the system were able to not have to do their own work to survive by making others do their work for them.

Whereas: When we were hunter-gatherers each person was made to do their own work or be left to die, egalitarian system.

The Earth can support about 20 million H-Gatherers and that is healthy for the Earth = no overpopulation, living mostly in temperate zones going to other zones temporarily when warm enough during warm seasons.

H/G's live to their 60's (which is plenty), this w/o modern conveniences or medicines.

Our current "progress" is actually just a "progress trap" which can't be sustained anyway. We are quickly consuming resources and polluting to end the health of Earth which will cause future collapse and devastation occurring as we speak; also slave labor is now a major problem for 6 of 7 billion people = these people are not happy but miserable.

Conclusion: in the next 100 years we should work BACK to this form (H/G life) for our own well-being = Neo-Hunter-Gatherers.

those 'happy' times you're so fond of were actually a DAILY struggle for life, what with the hunt for food, water, the constant looking over your shoulder for rival tribes and hunters, and the fight against competing predators for food, and your own survival

rose specs OFF, i'd suggest

Actually just study the Hadza of Tanzania. They like their life and are totally FREE from gov./law/taxes/religion. They have done this successfully for over 10,000 years. They work less hours per day than we do.

Hadza are happy, free, and cannot be rounded up because they know how to "disappear" into their environment.

May I remind you that only in the WEST for 1 billion people is current "progress" life not completely miserable. The other 6 billion trapped in the current system are slaves.

Advantages of HG:

1)Increased well-being, each person doing his own work to survive.

2) Less war, nomadic patterns mean that groups find their space with less argument, also less population makes it work

3) No taxes

4) No written laws

5) No formal religions/personal religions only

6) freedom of mind, body, spirit

7) longevity into 60's

8) no waste disposal problems

9) egalitarian system

10) no slavery/ wage slavery or other

11) decreased disease because NO CROWDING OF PEOPLE

12) no pollution problems

13) each person knows his complete "survival trade"

True, also. Hunting and agriculture don't get along very well.
Both need vast territory, either to hunt or raise crops.

Depending on the size of a tribe, or village.

The Cain and Abel story was probably based on this problem...

Still, either is better than polishing your CV and praying to god some idiot likes the way you enter and shake hands.

Thanks. Also, I would add that currently for many workers in southeast Asia (and many other places) their entire life has been one misery after another, they are not romanticizing at all about industrial life. They are being used to the maximum and then they die short lives.

I agree with society not waking up.

I disagree that women have more balls - maybe it's because men are turning into just pansies due to what the media tells us to become.

I don't think anyone has more balls than me, but thats because I stopped giving a shit about what anyone else does with their life....And started living my own.

Perhaps we care too much about fitting in, and not enough about finding ourselves.

Why do you keep insisting that hunter-gatherers "did their own work"?

Men hunted in groups and shared the spoils, women gathered in groups and processed together what they got, they had their sewing circles, habitats were built communally, and so on. The most natural society is probably a socialist group of about 100 people.

Our current industrial society practices human sacrifice on a large scale, it's in the form of working slave workers to death.

The eastern slave workers are sacrificed for the WEST standard of living. They are dying from work, literally.

We are actually "eating" their life essence in the form of our over-consumerism and improper demands for easy living. That is indirect cannibalism.
