I would really like to see some neutron data from these fusion experiments.
The reactions they are implying, such as D-D or D-T fusion, to have occurred, would release neutrons. I have never seen anyone reporting neutron flux as a result of their fusion experiments.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25276568 I think I just saw that at a site I was browsing. Let me see. Quoting: Septenary Man Here is a 2007 paper on it. Looks like they were getting varying results. If I remember correctly, in the Oak Ridge experiments, they had used the dated tech configuration which was upgraded after Oak Ridge canned the project. Of course, that was in accordance to DARPA as well. [ link to www.scs.illinois.edu] Our experiments imply an upper bound that is 10 000 times smaller than Taleyarkhan’s signal. We believe, however, that a neutron signal of only 1% of this upper bound would be very interesting, since a tantalizing and frustrating aspect of the search for new routes to fusion is discerning a weak signal in the tail of an exponential distribution. Small increases in bubble temperature would lead to huge increases in the rate of D-D fusion. This research supported by DARPA and the BBC. We thank Brian Naranjo for valuable advice and assistance on all aspects of this research. We also thank Avik Chakravarty for the priceless time spent with these experiments.
