While I hate drones and more so their use on US soil, the video really does blow some steam up their company's asses. Who goes to an open field to transfer weapons or other nefarious activities? And it sounds like the little sucker is pretty loud judging by the opening scenes, and I wonder just how loud it is at a 1,000 feet altitude. Yeah it's got IR which may give it a leg up in surveillance, but not by much judging by the image clarity and lack of detail.

Truth of the matter is that when tech like this gets introduced, the counter tech isn't too far behind at a cheaper price. Drones are reaching a price point that allows John Q. Public to own one, and if you have a serious crime ring running, why not have drones protecting your criminal enterprise 24/7 so they can be on the lookout for LE movements and drones. I'm sure the Mexican Cartels probably already run that technology given their cash flow.

For that matter, why not do your own surveillance blimp tethered above your house if you're really that paranoid or involved in "illicit" activities? And I was reading somewhere (maybe Gizmodo) about tiny autonomous drones that fly above you as you move around, soon to hit the commercial market. Imagine having your own personal eye in the sky acting as a bodyguard.

As high tech is used against us, so must we use high tech to protect ourselves.

Damn commy bastards. Private sales are not illegal, so having a training video about using drone surveillance to arrest people for doing something that is not presently illegal is very telling.
