Wathed it. I am very leery of anythiing the History Channel does regarding the Bible because they often misrepresent and even flat out lie where Biblical matters are concerned. Having read the Bible several times two things occured to me.

1. Now I know why my wife gets so bent out of shape when a cool movie comes out and she is pissed that it isn't exactly word for word like the book she loved.

2. As many times as I have read the Bible and pride myself on knowing it, I found myself going back to look up this or that thing that looked out of place. There wasn't anything in this episode that was destructive to the integrity of the Bible. Just the normal poetic license any movie takes. BUT, If I have to look it up, the movie makers have done their job because they wanted people to know about the Bible and I went back to read it again just to double check.

When anyone tells a story, they tell it for a reason. That's true whether it's preaching in church or a TV production. Nothing wrong with that, in fact, it's impossible to avoid doing so.

When anyone hears a story, it is heard in the context of their own past experiences.

The value of a good story is that it draws something out of us that maybe has not been drawn out before. Even Scripture can be very valuable in doing that if we will let it.
