The students are mad because some politician in Quebec told them they " WOULD NOT " raise tuition fee's.

Typical government lie. Happens all the time.

Indexation is just a cash grab,teachers teach what they know so why index it? Most in the EU provide free post school education for their own citizens (who are resident) and those of other EU countries. Scotland also provides free tuition, but the rest of the UK does not. I hope you have a good claim to the citizenship of one of the countries in the EU, because you cannot just apply for it and get it! By the way you also have to be resident in the country first, for a qualifying period to get your fees free. Citizenship is not enough. Canada would make it back in spades if they gave it free. Because of Quebec's current economical situation, free education can't be achieved right now. But the government said it could be possible in the years to come. Not right now. Remember Pauline Marois government just replaced the liberal party. They found so many irregularities in the budget and now the PQ has to take decisions. Indexation is a compromise.
