Your brain on neuroscience - Human brain mapping program down to the last neuron to control the mind - Is the mind a machine??
Those who are obsessed with tinkering, tweaking, derailing, and re-channeling brain activity have a psycho-pathological condition characterized by delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence. They are megalomaniacs.

“The mind is not a material object at all. The mind is not the brain.”

If you made that statement to a modern neuroscientist, the odds are overwhelming he would look at you as if you were visiting from the Stone Age.
You could say that mind is a series of spaces the person himself creates, in order to think, in much the same way a canvas is a space on which the painter imagines and creates.

From at least the time of ancient scriptures, and in ancient Egyptian texts, writers and philosophers have been describing the soul, the spirit, the psyche in various terms.

The individual is not physical, but inhabits a physical form, and after the body passes away, the individual survives and continues to exist in another realm or returns for another reincarnation.

The mind is not explainable in physical terms. This is the basic view expressed over and over by philosophies and religions from the dawn of time on this planet.'

There is, as far as conventional science is concerned, nothing inviolable about the brain.
I'm not talking science fiction. This is the way most neuroscientists, if forced to admit it, see us.

And they are the ones steering the ship of research. They are the ones who will guide the newly announced government Manhattan Project of the brain for the next 10 years. It’s called Brain Activity Map (BAM).

The American Psychiatric Association and Big Pharma are drooling with anticipation. This is precisely what they’ve been aiming for. Vastly expanded treatment options. More diagnoses. More drugs. More control.

BAM has been on the drawing boards for years. But after Aurora and Sandy Hook, the timing is right. The sub-text of BAM is: “People, we will protect you. We will gain access to the brain and re-channel it away from violence. You will be safe.”

Here’s a prediction. You can take it to the bank. On that day when BAM completes its vaunted mission, our esteemed leaders will manage to exempt themselves from brain scans that might reveal their own dark visions and objectives.

But BAM has a lot more juice. It aims to go the distance. It has the imprimatur of “hard science.” That’s the venue in which they cook up the biggest lies. The ones with real money behind them. And real Auschwitz experimenters."

BAM: What it really is, is a concerted effort of our governing megalomaniacs and psychopath to control society and the individual:

The project, which the administration has been looking to unveil as early as March, will include federal agencies, private foundations and teams of neuroscientists and nanoscientists in a concerted effort to advance the knowledge of the brain’s billions of neurons and gain greater insights into perception, actions and, ultimately, consciousness.

This goes beyond insanity...

Brain Map: President Obama Proposes First Detailed Guide of Human Brain Function

VResearchers have learned an enormous amount about how we think, what drives our behaviors, and why we feel the way we do since President George H.W. Bush proclaimed the 1990s the “decade of the brain,” but many fundamental questions about the three-pound universe remain unanswered. So President Obama has proposed a Brain Activity Map (BAM) project to reveal some of these remaining secrets??, using the Human Genome Project as a model.

Read more: [link to healthland.time.com]

REMAINING SECRETS?? The brain and the mind are as much of a secret as the entire universe. It's like attempting to map, understand and to control the vastness of the universe. The mind and/or brain can neither be understood nor controlled by trying to map it for the next ten years. It's crazy to even try it. They will be in for a surprise. No one even understands a fraction of how the mind really works or what it even IS.
The scary thing is that these psychopaths will probably conduct dangerous Dr. Mengele type experiments on humans.

Re: Your brain on neuroscience - Human brain mapping program down to the last neuron to control the mind - Is the mind a machine??
President Obama promised to President Obama's to put $3 billion towards mapping the human brain.

All the President's Neuroscientists

President Obama's proposed Brain Activity Map Project could lead to cures for Alzheimer's, autism, and schizophrenia. But members of Congress should read the fine print when the $3 billion proposal hits their desks next month — because the project might also provide the first viable means of remotely controlling the human mind.

The project, which is slated to cost north of $3 billion, is already well into its planning stages, and funding for it will probably be part of next month's federal budget proposal.

...the ancient and confounding truth that the brain is a stubbornly opaque beast. Even with all the imaging advances of recent decades— EEGs to CTs to fMRIs to PETs and beyond — we still lack the tools to directly and meaningfully observe the fundamental neural circuitry that underpins whatever a particular brain is doing at any given moment. But there is hope on the horizon. A number of promising tools—the most promising ones still firmly in the theoretical stage of development—may soon enable us to document the activities of countless live neurons in real-time, ultimately allowing us to reconstruct "the full record of neural activity across complete neural circuits." This could offer better ways of understanding exactly how schizophrenic or autistic or other atypical brains differ from normal ones, and perhaps suggest strategies for righting them.

...where things get sketchy. The technologies required to map the brains of lower life forms won't cut it. Our brains are too big, too complicated. While nanoprobes and other extensions of existing technology might get us part of the way, in order to get deep inside we'll have to invent an entirely new class of what the Neuron paper calls Wireless and Synthetic Biology Approaches. "We think that it will ultimately become feasible to deploy small wireless microcircuits, untethered in living brains, for direct monitoring of neuronal activity,".

"potential options for a human BAM Project include wireless electronics, safely and transiently introducing engineered cells to make tight (transient) junctions with neurons for recording and possibly programmable stimulation, or a combination of these approaches."

"possibly programmable stimulation." Let's be clear about what that means: These probes they envision injecting into human brains will not only be able to record the firing of vast networks of individual neurons, but will possibly be able to control the firing of those individual neurons as well. The proposed paper mentions "development of novel devices and strategies for fine control brain stimulation."

to be able to wirelessly and independently stimulate every single neuron in the insanely complex intertwined circuits that make up the human brain. The Brain Activity Map Project wants to understand how our brains do what it is that they do, but it just so happens that the technology the project will develop to gain this understanding could also be used to make our brains do whatever they want.

At the end of the paper, they note that the project has "potential ethical ramifications," and that these include "issues of mind-control." To assuage concerns about these ramifications, they write, it's going to be up to the scientists participating in the project to engage "diverse sets of stakeholders and the lay public early and thoughtfully." Speaking of those stakeholders, is it any surprise that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will reportedly be involved, or that Google and Microsoft have already taken part in some of the preparatory groundwork?

Note that in the context of spiritual matters, when someone says mind they don't mean that spot in your head where thoughts are, but rather the whole of human experience, heart, soul and brain, you know?

That is a common misunderstanding in the west, because "mind" doesn't translate properly from certain other languages

The same goes for consciousness, where the west has it as "consciousness/subconsciousness", but this is lost in translation too, especially in new age garbage where the author doesn't know anything except how to increase his bank account

Agreed. The scientists don't seem to understand this fundamental difference. The soul and human consciousness is often completely disregarded and the terms brain and mind are being used to define the same meaning even in medical papers.
It's questionable how much thought the gov. initiating BAM has put into thoughts about consciousness and mind in regards to the brain.

That we are, always reacting to a sea of constant influences and stimulations from the world, pulling us every which way.

Unhooking yourself from this is one of the goals of many of the spiritual practices of the ancients, such as buddhism, as an obvious example. For instance "the 4 noble truths"

Unhooking from being reactive is a good idea.

Take advantage of watching Social Engineering Documentary while you can, before it gets deleted by YT again. It demonstrates the continuing quest by science and the elite to control the mind and people at large. BAM fits right in as a continuation of that in the 21st century.

"Organisms can be viewed as flesh and blood machines. Like machines, we can be put to work for a specific cause. Like machines we can be repaired or redesigned for new purposes.
And like machines we can be compelled to a certain action at the push of the button.

It wasn't until the era of capitalist industrialization that men began to think that they can control life forms the same way they can control objects."

Time to sleep for me, but I hope this thread inspires some to meditate on the human condition and the implications on society's evolution by a small sector of people on top that continue to pour large amounts of funding into developing ways of control.

If you watch don't want to watch the whole movie, a good place to start is 34 min.

The world we live in has been engineered for a specific purpose. If we don't wake up and turn the tables, it's gonna get fugly!

Re: Your brain on neuroscience - Human brain mapping program down to the last neuron to control the mind - Is the mind a machine??
Leary about them having this info if they do not share. But if they share I'm fine with it, I've been internally mapping mine for some time. You just have to take control for yourself if you don't want someone else manipulating you, but it's always been that way. We may just need to step up our own control to counter theirs.

I've got my motor control and emotions really honed, I can stop hiccups, heartburn, muscle cramps, control my body temperature, etc just by thinking or willing. Emotions are nearly the same way, pain can be channeled into other emotions or create then mix and match emotions to make new emotions which often feel similar to old ones, this is really useful for disseminating confusing or complex emotions. This can also help create more vivid or lucid dreams and there are so many more possibilities. When it comes to your mind you can do just anything if you're determined. And when it comes to someone else trying to manipulate you, remember you are the house and house almost always wins, if you put in the effort.
Through will of thought we control our emotions and thoughts are often no more difficult to control then we make them to be.

Thanks I can likely work in 15-30 min. I agree it's unlikely it will not be used in unscrupulous ways, but hopefully the majority of us can get something from it, cause I the way I see it they are going to do this either way. And it's likely better that we have it in the open then in total secrecy.

"Man does not have the right to develop his own mind."
Jose Delgado, Neuroscientist, Yale

who conducted experiments implanting a device into humans and animals to control it remotely in 1973. (see video)

Imagine what they will do with technology available today after they have a map of the brain. Do you believe that knowledge will be used for the benefit of all or for the benefit of a select few?

Humanity isn't ready to temper with the brain and mind. In the wrong hands, and the people who are funding and doing the research ARE the wrong hands the idea of it is unimaginable.

This film presents very important information. Here is the last part of the movie. See the guinea pig at the end of this clip. This could be humans after O's mind mapping project.

They can map the brain all they want. As long as they do not consider consciousness they are only fiddling with the physical. Sure they can turn on and off emotions, and continue to suppress symptoms of neurological diseases and such. Their approach is still not aimed at a cure. A cure requires a holistic view, taking into consideration all of the parts and levels that make a human being. (body, mind, soul, spirit, emotions, consciousness, super consciousness, etc.) They are only destroying the human body by dabbling with the physical: the vessel of our soul and consciousness and by this only damaging people's souls. Once again, people want to put themselves at the level of the master architect G-D!

To map and comprehend the brain is one thing to comprehend what is 'mind' is altogether something "they" have no clue.
