Brings a tear to my eye when I think of all the lazy kids sitting at home with nothing to worry about except the next video game release. God bless him. I might even make a day trip to eat at that restaraunt. The restaraunt owner should be awarded as well.

Where were kids like this when I was needing help?....I tried to give 3 kids from da 'hood a chance....they were going to be trained in welding and basic machine operations in my shop....not 1 made it passed the 2nd week....1 stealing from me, 2 couldn't make it to work on time even tho they live in the neighborhood....these were kids that hung out on the corner complaining they couldn't get a break and "da man" was keeping them down....

Wow. I got choked up reading that story! Especially when I read that his mother died two years ago, and he was out trying to find work to support his siblings.

The pessimistic/realist side of me now thinks the following:

1. Dead-beat dad will probably be knocking on "sons" door soon...and probably looking to get his hands on some of that $14/hour cash.

2. For all the people on the front page who wrote "White kid, figures" Um....did you read his name? He is almost certainly bi-racial.


It is so difficult to trust anything that comes out of the msm these days....remember the story of the police officer (actor) giving boots to the homeless man....right outside the Skechers store in Manhattan....and the boots he gave away happened to be the new style Skechers was looking to advertise....

Four hour walk, what the hell, are you doing baby steps ?
It takes ME 55 mins to walk to work and it is 6.2 miles. If I run it takes me a lot less.

That's hours... Imagine walking all that way and not getting the job, then walking back.
