Not because they were actually good, or good for you. Not because it was Quality. But because it was convenient. |

The only thing that could bother me is the false advertising but the fact that I ate horsemeat, I couldn't give a fuck less. Horsemeat is tasty, have been eating it since I was a little boy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1516308 Do you eat it in the same way(s) as beef? (steak, burgers etc...) |

But it still had to taste good or people would choose another brand. |

But that it is Tough because it is so lean and does not have enough marbling (fat) to be tender. So they grind up the horsemeat with added fat. And we all know that fat tastes good ;P Horsemeat would make a bad hamburger by itself, but if you added a bunch of fat it would be ok. They have to add fat to hamburger when they grind up beef too. So its no different. |

Problem... User ID: 28094663 United States 02/26/2013 11:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I remember back in the 50's or so that many people were unwittingly eating horsemeat from various sources. The problem occurred when they would receive a certain type of vaccination which contained horse serum. I don't remember specifics but some people has allergic reactions and blood dyscrasias from previous exposure to horse antigens. Also, there are no federal statutes or quality standards for horsemeat so someone could slip some foul dead nag's meat into a burger with no FDA oversight. If it is happening let's get it out on the table and regulate it and enjoy a little horse. I've eaten bear, snake, grasshopper, ants, hedgehog, why not some lean red cayuse. |

I heard stories from my parents how horse meat was used to cure anemia while they were kids. When she was just 7 years old, my mom suffered from extreme anemia, after she almost died from pneumonia, and she cured anemia with horse meat. I've heard similar stories from other older people as well. So horse meat is definitely not taboo where I live, but it's not eaten that often since horses are considered more as working livestock, than food. |
